I like it. :)

No no... listen to the track from the start.. then at 30secs they insert a 4-4 beat that is out of time with the main 4-4 beat.. its in the background but it is just loud enough that it puts me off and i cant concentrate on one beat or another.. its so frustrating and makes the whole song hard to listen to.

The problem isnt that it is beyond the 4-4 beat, it is precisely the oposite, it IS a 4-4 beat but it is just completely out of sync with the main 4-4 beat....

and a whole lot of frustration ensues!

It's not out of synch. It's an off-beat. It's pre-empting the kick. It's in time.

It's in time yes (they are both 4-4 patterns).... but it is out of sync... as in it is not landing on any of the 1/2 1/4 1/8 1/16 1/32 (etc..) beats of the main drum pattern. Yes it pre-empts the Kick.. but you can do that without taking it out of the pattern of the main drum beat.. for instance a shuffle drum pattern pre-empts the kick every 4 beats.. but what we have here are two 4-4 drum beats that dont link together within the same pattern.. as a result they clash.

Well to my ear they do..

This was clearly not a mistake, Rick meant to put it in and it was an experiment of course, but I just dont like it and wish it wasn't there... just my opinion

sounds a lot like you're living in the 'Land of Confusion' to me.

whether right or wrong, I notice it each and every time I listen to that track. it feels (feels, not is) as tho the base starts on the 2 rather than the 1. (or maybe on the eighth note)

A bit late, but thanks to Swift for Ansum and thanks to whoever it may concern for my RTSR tracker approval. Great stuff!
