Re: and: the poetry thread

Today I am grateful so here is a list of things I love in this world.

I dig the sound of a good beat, turned up so loud I feel it vibrating through the floors. After my classes are done, I like to pick up a coffee and sit outside the Mathieson Library for a cigarette before I head home. My best friends are all beautiful creatures. Mangoes are my favourite fruit. I enjoy finishing off a long day by constructing an excellent playlist in iTunes, rolling a joint and lolling about on my laundry-covered bedroom floor. I like to delude myself into thinking I'm a good writer as I pour out my disjointed, messy poetics into the various notebooks I've amassed. I get off on the presence of enthusiastic and warm-hearted people. I enjoy daydreaming about my beautiful Philosophy lecturer (forearms, wide blue eyes, nice glasses, floppy blonde hair - oh) and tutor. I feel good when I break into darker places and go underground into the belly of the city, in drains and abandoned places where the light is thin and dust moves with me. I love Ableton and FL Studio and feeling the incomparably satisfying magic of letting a beat I've made loose through my speakers. I probably love you.

Do you love? And what do you love?

i really enjoyed that. those lyrics or poem, whichever you call it, it's alive. the words go into the brain and dance through the toes. i feel like i saw through your eyes for a minute there. you should seriously consider writing as a profession.

i look to the void for answers that i never know. searching like a dog sniffing the unsmellable. why is this because answers are not found. being alone and lonely are two different, too different. when i say fuck all its like a magic is suppose to appear. i guess not with this awful rye. content/discontent someday i hope it all equals out. like it once did. so i can get back to the way it once was. or at least, something like it.

...what is my reflection? but a copy of my reality.
i see my imperfection, and fail to see the vanity.
i close my eyes and start to breathe to escape myself and to be set free...

and we celebrate the naked heat with clothes on
and we celebrate the sun because it refuses to go down
and we celebrate the time we give ourselves
and we celebrate the circles

....and now I´m thinking about the British pole and that ribbon and wonder....how long might it be?

..and how could I know you got to be trilled
and not thrilled
...and how could I see you from a flyover
and not a crossroad
...and how could I sing through the wires
and not your ears

Oh Lord above the coastline
the one who drew the line
am I a dry pebble in a wet sand
a pebble in a sandbox on the beach
or am I facing the biggest ocean in the line

Hurt, the necessary feeling, right?

I saw it surely between and on the rails
I saw it growing between the fingernails

...and do you think I knew
it was gentle and blue
30 000 endless coastlines so holy

and even more endless for the lonely
