From the UW front page:
R&K looking forward to returning to Bestival (http://www.bestival.net/) this year for an exclusive DJ set before the mighty inspirational KRAFTWERK hit the stage. It's been years since we shared a bill with the Godfathers back in OZ at the Big Day Out dancin' together onside of stage & buyin' funky cyclin' gear in Sydney's legendary camping emporium. This'll be the first time R&K have taken their radio show out on the road - Peel's alive.

I will be there, but won't have any type of recording equipment with me I'm afraid.
The weather is forecast to be fine.. mighty fine and dry! Yaa hoo!!!
So.. what we can expect from the boys? I wonder if they'll chuck in a few cheeky Underworld tracks into the mix?

This was a very enjoyable set (obviously!) Anyone else there? I recognised some of the tunes from the radio shows but I bet someone else is more qualified to tracklist, but were no dirties there? This forum needs a shot of adrenalin but I'm not prepared to troll it. Perhaps we should outsource some trolls from another board?

Oh, and Downpipe really kicked. Really kicked.

Abso gutted I missed it .... I await patiently a MP3 of the set :)
What were kraftwerk like...same set as they always play ?

What a great DJ set.. Rick and Karl in their bubble-heads and Mr Price doing (most of) the work at the desk. Shame they didn't play for longer.
Beforehand I didn't think they'd play any of their own stuff, but 'Between Stars' (pretty sure it was) was there and they finished off with none other than.... Rez!
Oh.. and I agree with Silicon, Downpipe really kicked.
I was in front of the DJ booth wearing a spaceman outfit, prancing around like a loon.. oh dear.
First time that I've seen Kraftwerk, but by all accounts a standard set, some good visuals though.

Well, you've certainly done better than I could do at remembering and identifying the tracks!
I think Downpipe was a bit earlier and it was Rez before heroes.
Funny, I've been listening to that track by Liaisons Dangereuse a lot lately. So old and so groovy.

voodoo ray has got to be one of the greatest early house tracks... it kicks the crap out of everyhing around it.
that set sounds like fun

Was Between Stars live or a studio recording?

Sounds like studio, with a nice tremolo effect on Karl's Vox reminding me of TT:

This is so funny, Pricey DJing and Mr. and Mrs. Bubblehead jumping around in a very very "mmmmmh" way :D

Nice find! I think that tremolo was used in another, obscure UW track... can't remember what it was though.

Singing it live? That sounds great. Electro classic Al Naafayish right after too. Darren Price is awesome.

Very interesting and funny to see Rick cut loose. Usually he's so tied down to the desk.
Did they wear the bubble-heads for the whole set?

Yes, that would be "TT", as DaddyAdv mentioned.

Wow
Hashim - Al Naafiysh (The Soul), that brings back memories 1983... hiphop / electro parties at a youth home in Amsterdam with Suriname and Moroccan friends who lived there. I have that track on the only hiphop LP I own, couldn't find it on 12" back then :(

Karl kept the bubble head on the whole time, Rick took it off every so often to have a sit down and a cigarette!

Its also good to see Rick sporting the Cardigan... considering Rob Da Banks influence on them last year at the radio broadcast... i wonder if Pricey was sporting the same Adidas jacket his mum bought him hahaha
I wish darren price would smile more.
He is working with one of the best dance bands in history, you would think he would at least make an effort. Why the long face darren?? :P

Grumpy because he didn't get a bubble-head?

No, actually I was thinking of the second version of "Swing Up High". That's a good one.

cool vid (still love that Between Stars tune), although is it just me or does it seem a bit weird to have an "underworld dj set" which is basically a Darren Price dj set with Karl and Rick doing silly dances with silly masks on? Or did they do any actual mixing as well?

i remember when pricey was coming to peru and to chile earlier this year, his performance was labeled as 'underworld dj set' and used like that in advertising.
i was going to those shows. pricey, why did you cancel????? :(

Id say the lads had a hand in the tune selection, Karl looked like he was fairly rooted to the controls in the vid, i can only imagine Karl would usually be out dancing if he hadn't something to do... but i would say Darren did most.. and they dont deny it, singing his praises all the time they are!

Random, but I think it's great you used that "mmmmmh way" quote - I saw it in an interview ages ago (Tilburg?) and it's stuck with me since :)
The set sounds great, I'd love to hear the whole thing..
