I am having a little trouble with how the page is showing up on internet explorer - this hasnt occured to me till now since i am a Chromeuser these days...

I will try to have it fixed asap but at least the main Flash aspect of the page is up and you can avail of what is on that for the time being...

i am in contact with my provider to fix the problem and should be back up and running in no time.

If you wish to see the most recent work however i suggest an internet browser other than Internet Explorer!!!!

Thanks

UPDATE (AGAIN)

Hey Guys

As March comes to a close I'm getting out whats left of my work this month and putting it out there for all your ears and eyes!

MUSIC
On the music front i think i'll call it a day with what i have done so far this month....

I Don't Mind -

1.Inflate
2.Have.Go.Take
3.Junior Bingo (Mr. Benn Mix)
4.Along
5.In Wind
6.Bonus Banana Cup Holder
7.And the Other
*A complete mix is in the process of being produced...not easy

Some of these have been uploaded to Facebook and Myspace however all of them can be found until the end of the month on the "latest" bar on the website (www.intheblackbox.eu) and after that in the "music" section

VISUALS
This month has seen the usual 365 photo diary continue as planned (with a few hiccups and corners cut but fairly successful)
I have concentrated a little more on visual material in preparation for the summer and hope to incorporate it as much as possible in a live capacity.

What has been released of video material can be seen on the site at the bottom of the page

I don't Mind - Along (hand visuals) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLmPKj8ZhqE)

Photography can be seen as always at my flickr site and on the website itself

WRITING

The blog continues to grow daily with the 365 input and the random words that go with it... (www.intheblackbox.wordpress.com)

This month saw the addition of In The Black Box to the playlist on Dirty Radio which can be heard by folowing this link (music.rowla.com)

Thanks for all the support and will continue to keep you all updated in the new month and onwards..

Thanks

Hi ho,

Had a bit of a holiday there the last two weeks, but i managed to squeeze in a bit of work on the noise machines that have been waiting for me at home. So i decided to do a bit of old school recording and found a dusty casset tape to record onto while i made extremely noisey music... i took a little bit of this and put it on the website and you can hear it now in the Latest section and in the music box under April 2009

Blend - Live Jam (Internet Edit) - www.intheblackbox.eu

(Please excuse the sound quality of this recording at times, Tapes can be tempermental)

Otherwise i have been up to my usual antics with the cameras and the words. Will be updating the website soon as we mosey on into May....good god it's May already?

And as per usual i am always looking to keep things looking fresh so keep your eyes peeled for some new additions to the website.

You can now see that the website has been simplified.. and some additions have been made...

THE MUSIC BOX - This is an archive of all the music i have been creating over the last 3 to 4 years. It is at the moment limited to a Discography of 2008 and 2009 with only 2009 featuring the music links...but by the end of May i hope to Have 2008 fully updated so that you can listen to anything i have made and see when i made it. I will also try to have put some sort of shape to the music i created in 2007 and 2006 (even some 2005) While the "Other" section will feature other projects and Remixes that i have made for unrelated reasons.

As ever i am always open for suggestions and comments so feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the site or, here on Facebook and there on Myspace...

alternatively you can contact In The Black Box at this address:

anboscadubh@gmail.com

..I am looking for gig opportunities from Mid June onwards in the Dublin area and beyond, so if you are looking for the kind of music you are hearing from me and the visualisations to match... give me an email and we will work something out...

Hope all is still groovin on up...

Hello people!

Just an update before the end of May.

Music and visuals have taken a hit this month with my time having to go elsewhere, but i hope to add to the workload before the end of the month and finish off strong.

Music wise, so far this month we have:

Connection:
1.Traks
2.Park Drive East
3.Park Drive West
4.Glitter
5.Crayon Dynamic
6.Radio Dynamic Twenty Two
7.Deep Pit

Today I added "Deep Pit" to the latest section.. and you can now listen to it live on the website.

I am considering setting up a new interface where you will be able to see all the songs rather than just one.. we will see what happens.

What has been extremely active this month is the new Black Box Radio Show that is released as a podcast on Rowla/Dirty Radio every Monday night at 8pm.

You can subscribe to the podcast or listen to it live from the site.
www.music.rowla.com

Dirty Radio has also added more of In The Black Box's music to their playlist. All new tracks are featured from the "In The Black Box 2009 Vol.1" Collection which is now available to buy and download from the website www.intheblackbox.eu

With the setting up of the Radio show, May also saw the digital store getting up and running at full capacity. You can now download 4 collections of music from 2008 and the start of 2009. If anyone is looking to buy a specific month or song then feel free to contact me through the website or through facebook and something can easily be arranged.

--------------------------

As In The Black Box returns to Dublin this June we are looking to perform in the Dublin area.. if you wish to have In The Black Box at your gig, please contact me on facebook, myspace (www.myspace.com/daviddonoghue) or through email at anboscadubh@gmail.com

Hope all is well and keep an eye on the website for the new month as things will surely be happening as per usual. Just amn't quite sure what yet!

Thanks

Dave

Hello good people...

Quick update.

This month has seen a slow down on material being released. This is down to three reasons

My Server has gone bust
I am preparing the live show - FIRST SHOW TONIGHT!
And i do have stuff just havnt cleaned it up yet - so chill the fuck out ahrigh?!?

Break for the Border

In The Black Box will be performing tonight at Break For The Border, Stephen Street, Dublin, Ireland.

The Show: 20 Band Pile Up

I Think that means there are loads of people playing, i amnt quite sure yet... however if this goes well i may have a spot at KnockanStockan festival in Co. Wicklow,

Which would be nice!

.....................................

In Prep for the gig i have been working a lot on the live show, no visuals yet and the guitar needs to be fixed before it can be included, however we do have everything else and most importantly the music will be there!

I have been making recordings and videos with the music which i hope to sync and get on youtube asap to show the live set-up / performance and hopefully beat the server problem..

New Shows Up on Dirty Radio

Dirty Radio have still not chucked me off the Monday night slot and we are up to show no.6!!

Come have a listen and download the podcast, new shows available every week from monday at 8!

The previous shows are not available yet due to the same server trouble...will try and fix that ASAP

Otherwise hope all is well and groovy

See ya tonight,

gonna stick my head out of the box!

How did it go dave? Or is it tonight tonight?

;)

It was lastnight tonight and it went very very well...

Each band had 20mins and it was garage rock band after garage rock band banging out the same messy noises all night long.. I asked to be on near the end because the music was so different. .... little did i know the gig had nearly 10 bands!!! so i didnt get on stage til 1am.. however they said just keep playing and i got an hour long set plus a half hour DJ set to please the crowd for the end. Plenty of Underworld of course!

So all in all had a great start to the gigs this summer. Hope it turns out well for the festival. Not many people at this gig but those who were, were dancin.

Going to try and get the new material i had for the show up on the website and I also have a 45 min vid of the show which turned out to be me shakin my ass for aaages, so ill see if the sound is anygood on that and if i can edit together a little chunk of it for ya'll to see.

Hello July .... Hello Moon

It has been awhile since my last update.

June has been a busy month, aside from moving the Black Box back home to the mother land... it has also taken to the stage on two occasions and churned out the beautiful vibrations of two live video performances and FOUR live studio sets with live video DJing!

One solitary song... "Lullaby " was released on the site due to a server error and the live set practice. However i did my best to keep material coming to the site with 6 new video uploads.

You can now watch the Outward Live Studio Set video on the website if you click the link on the top right of the page. There are four sections and each features live video mixing of visuals i have been working on for a while.

The Break For The Border live performance was recorded to an extent and 4 songs are available to be seen on the main page for the time being.

However now it is July. and it is called "Slope"

Already we have one new song "Major Tom and Envy" - its like a meditation on a noise.

In The Black Box will be concentrating on getting some new gigs for July and also will be looking into improving the live set. From this we hope to get some new material out that will be new sounding and perhaps involve a little bit of the past we know so well.

Will keep ya'll updated on developments and hope to see you in the near future!

Hello Again!

This is my first update in awhile, I have been busy trying to get things sorted out on the site and on the music front which i will try and update you on now.

New Library and Shop (http://www.music.intheblackbox.eu)
As you may have noticed the site is undergoing some changes (as per usual i guess). I am currently trying to integrate a new nifty way for everyone to listen to my music and also for the first time have a chance to download each track as they wish for a small price (50c/85c). The music will always be available to be listened to on the site free of charge, but what this does is get of all the requirements of space/bandwidth etc etc that has stopped me expanding in this way before and for the first time give you a reliable and definitive library of my music.

Most importantly it allows you guys to have the chance to download those tracks that you like and avoid the ones you dont like, while also getting them in super high quality in whichever format you want. All tracks also come with full ID and Album art and should integrate perfectly into your iTunes or Media Player - whathaveyou.

You may also if you wish download full albums for a low price if you wish and all the same cool features apply!

I am now able to provide you guys with a good library of my music free to listen over the internet and download if you hear anything nice. To start off i have only Vol.1 of 2009 available to listen in this new format which features 10 songs and one bonus song if you download the album. I will try and get the other volumes up on the site ASAP - in the mean time the "digital store" (http://www.intheblackbox.eu/digital-store) will remain on the website for you to purchase music on until the transfer over to the new format is complete.

You can access the new library/shop by either clicking on the links at www.intheblackbox.eu (http://www.intheblackbox.eu)
or by visiting
www.music.intheblackbox.eu (http://www.music.intheblackbox.eu)

Rest assured all new music will be made available to listen on the website as per usual however only in time will they be available to be downloaded.
(maybe a bit faster if you ask nicely)

AUGUST - UNDER
This month has been dubbed "Under" and got off to a bit of a slow start. At the moment on the site (www.intheblackbox.eu (http://www.intheblackbox.eu)) you can have a listen to two new tracks:
Deliver
Dig Dig Dig/Paper Notes

There are two other tracks near to being complete and a third fresh in the mind so maybe that will get finished before the end of the month.

The site design has also been accompanied by a new visual addition in the form of a short video to accompany the music of "Deliver" and that can be viewed in the "Visual" section of the main page (www.intheblackbox.eu (http://www.intheblackbox.eu))

JULY
To round up last month, which was a big one, i would like to thank everyone who attended my performances in Dublin and who made lots of noise/got their groove on when the chance came about. July was a big month also in the development of my musical production with the addition of a new set up and a more complex sound... i hope to develop this a bit more and get it right for more gigs in september and October.

BLACK BOX on Rowla.Music
I am continuing to release a weekly podcast radio show on Rowla Music (www.music.rowla.com (http://www.music.rowla.com)) which is usualy available on Monday nights (or later in the week if i am busy).

Thanks again to everyone who has shown support over the last few months, everything has really taken a huge step forward recently and i hope to keep the momentum going all the way up until the new year.

Keep your eyes peeled for new updates all the time at the various sites that i have:

Hello hello hello...

In this Update:
1. August Ends
2. Two New Tracks (Waiting for Ships - Bare Feet)
3. September Begins
4. In The Black Box 2009 Vol.2 Release and Promos
5. Dirty Radio

AUGUST ENDS:

As August lays its furry head on the pillow of time, a new month opens its mouth and swallows us in. However, the crumbs of last month are still falling on the jumper of sound .....ok the extended metaphore has gone on too long.

On the site (www.intheblackbox.eu) you are now able to listen to the complete Under collection from August 2009... the last three tracks have been added for live streaming.. and so the complete set is as follows..

1.Delivers
2.Dig Dig Dig/Paper Notes
3.Last Blue Run
4.Waiting For Ships
5.Bare Feet

TWO NEW TRACKS:

"Waiting For Ships" and "Bare Feet" are the result of a ongoing interest in progressive house... i tried to hold myself back a little bit and concentrate on getting the sound right... so while there may be nothing too crazy inventive here i feel the sound quality has got a little bit more refined.

So as the new month opens I am going to try and take that development in sound and commit it to new experiments in live recording and ambient noise.. well thats the plan anyway.. we'll see.

Listen to "Under" here - www.intheblackbox.eu

SEPTEMBER BEGINS:

.. September will see the usual developments and changes to the site ... a name has not been dubbed yet because nothing has been created.. when that happens the music that is now on the site will be removed and new music added...

..there is a video in the works.. that will be worked on this month i hope.

IN THE BLACK BOX 2009 Vol. 2
As i have now completed the eigth month of the year there will be a new volume of the most recent music released for listening and purchase on Bandcamp.com. The music has not been decided upon yet but once there is a track listing, the songs remastered to their best quality and then uploaded in high quality to the site they will be released for download.

I may make the first few downloads free or give away some goodies to those who download first, i'll keep you posted.

The album should be released late next week.

you can buy In the Black Box music at www.music.intheblackbox.eu

BLACK BOX on DIRTY RADIO

What used to be Rowla.Music has now been officialy dubbed Dirty Radio. Returning to its roots the station is growing by the day and offers some of the best new electronic music and constantly has new and interesting shows to listen to.

Hello all! Oh it has been quite awhile but there are some things a happening!

DEAF/Sunday Roast
October - Lost and the Other Halls
www.dirtyradio.org (http://www.dirtyradio.org)

DEAF/SUNDAY ROAST
In the Black Box is proud to announce that he will be performing at this years Dublin Electronic Arts Festival as part of the Sunday Roast show on the 25th of October in the Globe. Playing alongside amazing artists such as Sleep Theives, Sounds of a System Breakdown and Maroon Cartoon. These guys have some seriously good music brewing in their creative minds and its going to be an absolutely fantastic night of Electronic Music.
Its completely free... since i pale in comparison to the other acts i am sure i will be on first so i am sure an early night can be a possibility for those who are afraid of the dark.

OCTOBER - LOST AND THE OTHER HALLS
Right now over on www.intheblackbox.eu (http://www.intheblackbox.eu) you can find the usual new stuff and redesigning... including one brand new song called "Low Things" free to be listened to and enjoyed!!
Because of my return to studies and a concentration on the development of a new live set up, the output has been hugely reduced recently. BUT FEAR NOT! I am constantly working on new material when i can even if it is not on the site and i am sure once i hit the stage there will be plenty for all to hear!
So do come along on the 25th if you want to hear the latest music In The Black Box has to offer!

DIRTYRADIO.ORG
The Black Box Radio Show is onto its 18th show and has just completed its second week of going out LIVE to the masses through the amazing INTERWEBTHINGY!!! You can tune in live to dirtyradio.org every sunday from 7pm GMT to hear Dave spin some crazy tunes!
And if you miss it fear not since all shows are provided as a podcast on the website for weeks and weeks after the show has gone out live!
I hope you all tune in when you can!

MUSIC STORE!!
The music store is open as always if you wish to throw a few euro towards a good musical endevour and you can buy my music at www.music.intheblackbox.eu (http://www.music.intheblackbox.eu)!

I hope you are all doing really well and i hope to see you dancing like made come the DEAF festival!
Until then unless something cool happens!

With much love and appreciation
