don't read the comments:

the film isnt as action packed as the trailer seems, it's actually slowly paced. it's a Vampire Love Story, but isnt like a vampire flick, nor is it a love story in the conventional sense (and not just because there's a vampire).

right after my first viewing of it, i watched the director interview on the dvd and he mentioned an aspect of the movie that didnt register in my head initially (or at least the magnitude of it). the question was, do you see the movie as having a "happy" ending or a very sad one. my initial impression was the former, but then realized how much deeper the larger picture/story is when you think of it from the latter standpoint.

but anyway, it's a dirty peeps worthy film and fittingly "treatment".

This was on my must see list last fall but it only played for 2 weeks at the local art house. The same goes for TimeCrimes (I think that was the name of it???)

Supposedly they are making a hollywood version of both of them; hope they don't ruin them.

Good to know you enjoyed it. will search it out

I was watching this thinking "what does this all mean? What's the point?" and then at the end, it was quite the revelation.

KJ, it was much more on the sad side, IMO.

Great movie.

yep. for me what makes this movie great (like you, it didn't seem that way while i was originally watching it) was the lack of any explicit explanation or detail of the girl's back story. i'm gonna try to be vague here so as not to spoil it for those that havent seen it: her past and future is in her relationship(s)...and it might end up being the same.

I watched this film last night and thought it was one of the best films I have seen in a long time.

If you have Netflix, it is on instant play now.

It is about a 12 year old boy who is bullied in school, and happens to befriend a vampire. Imagery is awesome. If you are a vampire genre fan it is even a better treat for you. Not like these joke of a vampire films of late like Twilight etc. This is classical genre.

However, it is not really about vampires, but rather about the relationship between this boy and his neighbor - who happens to be a vampire.

Check it out.

last scene was completely awesome, iirc

the rest was more of a fun diversion rather than wild originality, but still fun.
