Karl and Rick, is there any chance of the dirties that will come to the gig in Zaal 013 in Holland, of meeting with you?
We waited outside the HMH, the management didn't pass on our messages to you, so i i thought: why not ask you here? :)

yes Karl, dont be scared that theyre Dutch. They really are quite nice and you get used to the funny accent after a while ;)

He was happy to meet the crowd before the gig in Bulgaria for the tour opener, though they had paid a substantial amount of their monthly salary to get a ticket so I think they deserved it :)

I've been reading in for some time but only registered recently. Hope that I would be allowed to meet the guys too, nonetheless (if there ever was a meeting, that is ...). Which of course is NOT the reason for my registration. :p

when Underworld comes here to Toronto, i have but one request.
To meet up with Rick and or Karl, so they can sign my unripped and unused ticket stub ( a friend backed out last minute, and i didnt wanna sell it ) from the Oct 2002 show here ( the security took everyones stubs...shitty... no souvies )...then, tis be framed and kept on my wall forever.

At the New York Show in April of 99 the Dirty folk had a sign I think that said Dirtylist. I ended up in posession of said sign during the night. At one point I was taken with the idea of giving it to them. So I went up to the security and asked him to give it to them. He told me to just wait out back and give it to them myself.

So I waited....

And waited...

And sho nuff they eventually came out. Rick made a beeline for the bus, so there wasn't much talking to him. However Darren and Karl stuck around and signed things. Darren also then gave me my current moniker, because at the time my tag merely said Rev. Gene (I had a hello my name is tag so other dirties knew who I was). He came out and said oh You're The Rev eh?

Then there was the time Darren came into #spikee on IRC and we all made assclowns of ourselves. Or at least I did. Not sure if that was before or after this. I think it was before.

Actually, I am just jealous because they never signed any of my signs. :(

But I must give Karl his props for giving us that shout out in Philly. ;)

Rev I'm sticking with you next time they come by. Back in '99 I hardly knew what I was doing but after seeing them like four times I think it's time I at least attempted a handshake with Karl. Just a handshake thats all I need! I dont think I can do it alone and I need the dirtytroupe. Strength in numbers.

Heh, probably not wise these days. My star worshipping days are over. I'm a full on techno-minded sort now where I look at everyone as just another person making music. Some are better than others.

You know what, I've tried thinking of Rick and Karl this way, like if I ever got to meet one or both of them in person. But then I'd realize "these are the guys who made DIRTY EPIC, PEARL'S GIRL, and BORN SLIPPY.NUXX for christ sakes!"

Having been a warm up DJ at University for bands and acts and also being mates with loads of promoters and DJs and bands over the years, I'm a lot less in awe of musicians than I used to be but some will always make me pinch myself in that I cant hardly believe I'm meeting some of the people who've made some of my favourite music. Its very refreshing to find out that a lot of them are just thoroughly nice blokes (or birds :)) like the Hartnoll brothers. Very laid back.

If I ever get to meet Underworld, I'm sure it'll be pretty much the same.

damn, i knew i would be sorry for missing the show in bulgaria... :eek: *continues to bang her head on the walls*
