did i not start a Thursday night thread last week ;)

anyway...i think we might hear one or two tracks in their completed version - possibly the two that they have been previewing on the tour...

may be just one of them...who knows - they may even announce something, like a date of release...!!

Go to the BBC radio 1 site and click on listen live.
It'll also be archived for one week in real audio on that site.

i'd expect so being as its broadcast in the UK on a UK radio station, by two people who live in the UK...why would they list it in 'pacific' time (whatever that is :p) ??!?!?!

btw...i think we're still on BST (British Summer Time as opposed to GMT, but thats just me being 'Technical')

BST is GMT+1

So 11pm UK would be 3pm in Los Angeles which I assume is pacific time. New York would be 6pm.

See you all in the vastly inferior BBC chat room no doubt. As I'm sure this is again the way to post your messages to Karl & Rick. Remember! Don't post URLs in there. The BBC chatroom dictator doesnt like it because he's an asshole with no life and no sense of humour. Try also not to use big words.

The BBC broadcast on the net in RealAudio not mp3/shoutcast so on the PC I use StreamboxVCR.

I'll give it a bash - but my PC is from the dark ages and is acting like the plague just hit. I'm sure someone more reliable will have some success.

Fingers crossed though.

mplayer.
#mplayer http://blabla/bla.pls -dumpstream -dumpfile path_to_file/filename

afterwards, convert it from the stream's format (i think bbc sends realplayer-streams, isn't it?) to mp3 or whatever.

Big Mouth!!!

Great stuff...

Unfortunately my lame ass will be commuting home during the show - Boo!
Oh well - hopefully they will archive it - I can connect my PowerBook to my component CD Recorder hooked up to my stereo and burn the stream to CD.
If it's a successful recording I'll let you know - if anyone is interested, I'd be willing to make copies for trade only - anything Electonic/Techno/Trip-Hop related...

now playing: "Battersea - Hooverphonic"
Depeche Mode in LA Nov 21, 2005 - Woo Hoo!!!

THIS (http://www1.thny.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chat/chart/wes_chat.shtml) is a better link. It gives you an option window where you can select timestamps etc. Be warned, you cant change your nick after you've entered the room and the BBC chat isnt accessible via IRC.

However, IF the BBC chatroom ISNT open please re-locate to the #RTSR channel on the dirty.org server.

Take a look at THIS (http://ugly.blerp.org/~stimpee/chat.jpg) screenshot.

no new tracks? well at least we accidentally(?) heard a sample from,i don't know, welsh educational audio perhaps, which i bet (at least other parts of it) was also used in the "Ancient Fat Farm Coat". perhaps that was the beggining of complete track which will be on the new album? ;)
we may never know...

Its hard to play the tracks if u dont see the crowd in front of u. I have respect for Rob da Bank and Chric Coco. They dont see the crowd, but they pick tunes that builds the atmosphere.

And Karl did this job very well, it was pleasure for me to heard the selection. And Mr. Brian Eno was like surprise, its amazing track. (How did Karl get that track? From Eno himself, OMG)

Thanks Karl for that and ... please ... do it soon again;)
We all love your voice, its unique...

DJ Koze - twisted and won't leave my head. Kind of reminds me of Daft Punk - Rollin' & Scratchin.
Animal Collective - utter madness. Weirdest record I've heard in a long time. Will play this to lots of people.
Melt Banana - rocking!
The Hidden Persuader - glitchy and beautiful, like a really great Aphex track.
Zoo Brazil - My favourite track played. Liquidy and just lovely. Makes me cry that this is unreleased, I want it right now.
Phantom Formation - dark and rinsing.
John Martyn - *wow*, this is one of the most emotional songs I've heard in a long time. Beautiful.

Very interesting to hear the first track Quentin Harris' "Let's Be Young", which is great. Especially interesting is that the horn work in it is lifted straight out of the default loops "RnB Horn Section" in Apple's GarageBand application! Still, he's used it well.

I used it in one of my tracks with a little echo and distortion, but it's still recognisable: http://www.15megsoffame.com/artist/213/Resonant-Frequency/song/413/Two-Birds
