Fascinating bit of YouTube here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ1zSAQldjE). If this is smear, the Dems have picked a strange spokesperson to choose, but if there is any truth in this, this could be the final nail in McCain's coffin...

she was just saying that she saw him bend over to pick up a piece of paper and there was no crackage. ergo, he's a rich replublican nephew of someone connected to mccain and a plant, not a plumber.

McCain blames Obama for bringing up Joe the Plumber (http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/McCain_Lay_off_Joe_the_Plumber.html?showall)
We had a good debate this week. You may have noticed -- there was a lot of talk about Senator Obama's tax increases and Joe the Plumber. Last weekend, Senator Obama showed up in Joe's driveway to ask for his vote, and Joe asked Senator Obama a tough question. I'm glad he did; I think Senator Obama could use a few more tough questions.
The response from Senator Obama and his campaign yesterday was to attack Joe. People are digging through his personal life and he has TV crews camped out in front of his house. He didn't ask for Senator Obama to come to his house. He wasn't recruited or prompted by our campaign. He just asked a question. And Americans ought to be able to ask Senator Obama tough questions without being smeared and targeted with political attacks.
WHAT? Who brought Joe up in the debate? I bet Joe didn't ask McCain to talk about him on national television. Obama wasn't attacking Joe; reporters went to his house and dug up dirt on him, not Obama. Seriously. WTF is McCain smoking and where can I get some?

The McCain campaign tactic has been to say whatever they want and then repeat it enough times that the news reports what he says over and over again until maybe some voters start to believe it. That's what all of these guilt by association strategies have been about. It doesn't matter that every person in the world has probably worked with people who've done shady things - hell, Palin is married to a guy who was a member of a secessionist group. But McCain's camp is the one pounding the idea home - "Ayers, Ayers, Ayers, Ayers, Ayers, Ayers, Ayers". And even though McCain says Wright is off limits, Palin keeps mentioning that Wright is off limits, thereby reminding voters of Wright. Joe the plumber will be the same thing. And so will Acorn.

I think the intent here is to have a poster child. Joe the plumber is Palin's Joe Six Pack in the flesh. He's what Jessica Lynch was to the iraqi army. If you want to demonize something, pick a person, pour your propaganda all over their individuality like its clorox so that you've got a blank canvas on which you paint your own sienna brown bull shit.
Then make a moral crusade to "save" them, thereby proving your own virtue as it contrasts the the intended target of this theatrical farce. Then cynically walk away from your prop to face the media shit storm down alone. Not that he's all that guilt free, since the question turned out to be completely hypothetical to his own circumstances, he's more like Don't Tase me Bro than jessical lynch. Still if Joe the plumber had any sense he'd be angry at Mccain, not Obama, for being so manipulated.
Regardless, all they need to find is some Sue the Soccer Mom to angrily approach Obama and tell him one of her kids were killed by a hit and run by crazed married lesbians crashing towards the abortion clinic and you've got yourself an october surprise.

Strange.
Obama's plumber speaks out against Joe in what seems to be shaping up to be a battle of the plumbers (http://www.nypost.com/seven/10182008/news/politics/os_plumber__joes_a_joke__134101.htm) for the ages!
"That Joe the Plumber isn't even a licensed plumber," said the Democrat, union member and strong Obama supporter.
"He's taking our work. [John] McCain talks about the middle class, and then he brings up this guy as his champion. The middle class is being hurt by people exactly like him," said Dunn, who lives in the Chicago suburb of Oak Forest and has an 8-year-old daughter.
"The biggest problem for this industry is that people like him turn up, unlicensed and working illegally, and they take work away from people who are working aboveboard."

Ya know, I bet if Joe did a before and after workout calendar, he'd make more money than he's ever made with plumbing(?, uh oh).
Sex sells man, and when it comes to sex no one really gives a shit about your political leanings. And that's just the ladies.
