i guess people who were expecting a mad streetfight with McCain annihilating Obama by attacking him with his Ayers association is dissapointed. that was really the only interesting thing that would have added some oomph to this final debate.

McCain's answer in response to hiring Supreme Court Justices was really good. i just don't believe he'd make a right decision there though.

A good debate.
Good questions and moderation.
Obama did well to avoid the various traps laid down by McCain.
McCain did better than in previous ones, but still won't have convinced those swing voters.
Too bad, McCain.
I'd say this un-Photoshopped freeze frame just about sums up the state of play.

Yea, it was real. At the very end of the debate, Obama and McCain went to shake hands with the moderator. McCain happened to start going around the table the wrong way, and then went to change directions and made this funny little mock-confused gesture as he did.

No, it was just one of those faintly awkward human moments. As the debate ended, McCain got up to shake hands with the moderator, but found he couldn't quite reach across the table, started walki
ng to the moderator who simultaneously started walking the other way. McCain just made light of it.
