Add to that my #1 freebie VSTfx plugin, the NorthPole Filter (I use it on
nearly EVERY track I've done since finding the plugin)
http://www.prosoniq.com/html/freebies.html (Mac and PC available)

There's also the Tritium bass synth

And LinPlug's FreeAlpha (Mac and PC)

Thanks a bunch for this list! I will check it out Has anyone had any success with any of this? In my experience, freeware is prety hit or miss. Biggest hit for me has been Frooty Loops demo. That lil looper does a lot, if you're willing to spend the time!

I really must stick up for NorthPole. That thing is the SHIT. I used Audacity a little but I didn't like it as much as Pro Tools Free. It's probably gotten better with time.

There's another really complicated delay unit I have on my system that I forget the name of. (Haven't touched music stuff in a long time :()

actually, the smartelectronics plugs are pretty solid for me. i like the super trigger and the pitch effect (they all have cute little names) --they work in ableton and in audiomulch
