Not sure about the Loads of Birds demo. I hate that stupid chat room. Wish it had some kind of logging function.

The stuff I wrote is what I remember from the broadcast and chat. There were some things said that were exclusively in the chat.

Yup :) Rick told us about his favourite synth (was it the MicrowaveXT?), whether ALAF and Silver Boots are different "somethings" (and they are), the name of the unreleased Sunshine track ("my bassoon"?) and more things I've already forgotten...

So how does the studio you do scribble sound? Me very eager to hear.
I don't think it was a studio version... The timing had a live feel about it.

BrotherLovesDub

thanks for the confirmation. the chat was chaotic at best. i was wondering whether that was him or someone w/ the crew having a laff.

we were blessed! i have to agree that musically it was pretty lackluster, with the UW bits and Eterna by Slam being the exceptions, however, this show was more about the interactions with darren, rob and karl on one end and the humorous, global stew rumbling in the livechat. top marks overall, it's great to feel like part of a community....even you dubman!

thanks dirts!

I'd also say it was Rick in the chat, I asked him about the Microwave XT, last movie that inspired him and other stuff. He was surprisingly responsive.

He also pointed out that Always Loved A Film will be "comin", let's see in what way that'll be.

Thanks for spending some virtual time with us dirts, Rick!

TheBang
09-11-2008, 01:45 AM
Some other things I remembered from Rick in the chat:

1. Someone asked about 8 Ball live. Rick said, "If I have my way, we'll make 8 Ball live happen" (there might have been a qualifier with that, like "someday")
2. Rick was emphatic that the Hollywood Bowl gig was not recorded due to "strict house rules". It'll just have to live on as a lovely memory (and a crappy ALD bootleg).
3. Someone asked about Always Loved a Film and Silver Boots, and Rick's answer seemed to indicate that Silver Boots was separate from Always Loved a Film.

ghost_rick was in the chat room at the last Lemonworld broadcast. I didn`t give it a thought then, but the name did grab my attention, however nothing he posted stood out.

This time it was different! He made a couple of strange posts early on in the broadcast. An interesting one (about 30 minutes into the broadcast) was when he said what the next song they would play would be. Janie and I were discussing this possibility in a private chat room, but when the MicrowaveXT post was put up, there was no doubt!

Listening back to this excellent show I cant help but wonder what the non-British dirts, and the british dirts under 40, thought of the utterly charming "Ivor the Engine" Rick-ish clips/links

Sheer genius, in my opinion, and another reason as to why I love this band so much

Someone check my memory...
Is the UW track played before the "Eclipse" remix a different version of Loads of Birds? Sounds familiar, that bleepy beat and some of the guitar, but it's much more echoey.
