hmm...

I might actually try and see this I've loved the track "Into My Arms" since I heard it on the soundtrack to "Zero Effect"

and I just bought the new album, but don't have anything else by Nick Cave

btw - I find it funny that on the same tour, they're playing at the Hollywood Bowl and the 930 Club, b/c of how big the Hollywood Bowl is (and ritzy) while the 930 Club is so small

seriously; go see 'em... particularly at the club venue if you can! they're a fantastic live band; and he's the coolest front man there ever was. ever.

check out 'let love in' and 'the very best of...' for further intro's, although the new one is up there with their very best.

My recommendation for a first purchase would be the boatman's call. or ..and no more shall we part.

well...

my g/f lives in San Diego, I live in the Midwest, and I still have friends living in DC...

so hopefully - I should be able to catch at least one shows

and yea ... so what should I definitely buy first (of his albums)?
I know, I already bought his newest one, but I honestly haven't had much of a chance to listen to it, save for the single...

i'd say the ones strangelet recommended are good; i'd say that they lack the rawkus element that i'd say defines better bad seeds albums. they have the usual brilliant songwriting; but i'd still recommend 'let love in' or 'murder ballads' ahead of them; asked for one, then i'd have to say 'let love in' for lyricism and kick-ass tunes...

oh yeah you're totally right. i'm just thinking if into my arms is the gateway, then those two are the ones with the most similar sound. but I agree, when they throw down, its golden.

can't disagree at all - 'into my arms' is one of my all-time faves as well; which is why 'the very best of...' is a good intro purchase as well...
