You get the standard response of "Join RTSR and get it off the FTP site"
or maybe someone will share it? i can dig around and look for the mp3...

Anyway, it's my favorite version of NUXX 2003, with Karl's affecting story and the long piano intro. Not really a mix, though...just vocal on top of the track.

I'm sick of hearing BS/Nuxx to be honest. I think remixing it in 2003 was the only way the band could stand to carry on playing it live. The song is like a big millstone round the band's neck. Please bury it.

sadly they all have them, NO with Blue Monday for example....Orbital with Chime...

the review in mixmag of GG basically summed it up by saying that the crowd was simply waiting through 'dull' new tracks to hear born slippy...arrrggghh wankers

I tend to listen to the original version most times.
But.. the reaction of the crowd at a live show at BS.nuxx is still chilling me :)

you know what annoys me most is that its the one that is most ripped off in remixes etc...i wish people would be more inventive...its a good record.

and when you ask at any 'cheesey' venue for some Underworld - they only have born slippy, like wise with new order you get Blue Monday...these bands made more than one record and usually somethings much better than the most popular hit...

i specifically asked for Born Slippy NOT to be played at my wedding :)

Speaking as a fan from the US, who has never had the chance to see them live, I have to say that I still love the song. I've never heard it in a club, or DJ set, nor on the radio. So maybe for some people (in europe for example) it's achieved a bit of market over-saturation, but for alot of us that's not the case. For us it's just a damn good song.

Underworld should swap out BS Nuxx and play the original Born Slippy in their set's. Then mix that into Telematic.

Those are two tracks that we never hear live. :(

Nuxx vs Born Slippy = ?

I've never seen Underworld live, because they don't tour Detroit, which is completely disrespectful to the city. Detroit=Techno. (I'm being rythmically correct here, I'm not saying, "electronic".)

I much prefer the original Born Slippy to .nuxx personally. They're both great tracks but I agree with you lot -- .nuxx is way too over-played.

"... Underworld?" "You know, Born Slippy." "Ooooh, Born Slippy Underworld!"

"Cowgirl" is more a recognisable hit, to my peers. I think, because of the Hackers soundtrack, which inadvertantly tought Americans about Electronic.

Realistically, they included everything you need to know: The Prodigy, Underworld, Orbital, and Fluke.

original BS has been played numerous times (i was lucky enough to hear it at one of the lowlands gigs). But not recently, so yeah they should bring that one back.

i don't care what you play at gigs as long as you keep coming out on tour every wee while.

if you don't like a song played at a gig then have a sip of your beer and allow me to jump about daft like an idiot for a bit.

i haven t had the opportunity to ever see them live but have heard numerous djs play it from pvds remix to oakenfolds mix that being said i have numerous live sets of them an hearing it still sends chills down my spine one because of the intro to it and two hearing the original creators of it specially karls voice over it ....ahhh.... but well thats my two cents regarding that:D:D:D

Agreed!!
:D
Well, i still love BS, sometimes they seem to play it just because, but other times it is chilling and very emotional if you think of the meaning behind it.
my 2 € 0,05 ;)

I actually still kinda like it live

...mainly b/c they never play it like on the album anymore (and usually even without those trademark keyboard stabs or whatever you wanna call them)

but the best version

...acoustic!

Aren't we all waiting for an acoustic Underworld album?

agreed! I love telematic and the original.

I remember when Radiohead dumped Creep from their set and everyone was like "WTF?" but it did them no harm. Similarly, The Charlatans (UK), dumped "The Only One I Know" from their set for a few years (its back now AFAIK). Just dropping it for one tour might do the trick.
