new single online and it's quite a catchy little number...

the Suffering (http://www.myspace.com/coheedandcambria)

the lyrics are here (http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/coheedandcambria/thesuffering.html)

maybe I'm the only one here who digs them, but after seeing their live DVD and learning about the "story", I'm really blown away by their stuff.

I have been listening to CAC for a while now...but his voice is getting annoying.
AND there are tons of better rock/punk/whatever bands.

his voice is an acquired taste I assure you.

the 2nd Stage Turbine cd is what I would suggest to get into them....just listen to the great production of the guitars and the story driven lyrics.

The Story (in a nutshell)

Coheed gets infected by a mutated dragonfly that turns him into a godlike being known as the Monstar.....Cambria dies as do 3 of their four children(I won't reveal secrets and such), but the last son, Claudio, is the only one who can stop Coheed the Monstar and fix the balance of planets known as the Fence.

This crazy mongaloid looking punk freak of a singer actually sings like a metal opera choir boy. I mean, just LOOK (http://www.plastic-creep.net/port/portfolio-coheed.jpg) at the guy!

just got the cd and I must say it has some of the most stunning artwork I've ever seen on the inside booklet.

The cd itself is very much in the vein of their previous 2 albums, but they still try quite a few new ideas and song structures. The lyrics of the first few songs are actually about the guy writing "the story" and how what occurs in his life changes the events in his narrative. Then the last four songs take place in the story and are called "the Willing Well".....and these songs are fucking insane!!!

"Jesse, just come look at what your brother did, to this girl's precious little whore of a body!"
