I'm waiting a couple of days at least because a Werner Herzog festival is starting here in Portland continuing throughout the month each weekend. I'd rather see some Werner Herzog films projected on the big screen than the new Hollywood product for the week. The new Hollywood product will always be around on Monday, but Fritzcarraldo and many others are only showing for one night.
Heh! Fitzcarraldo is one of my favourite films of all time! Klaus Kinski FTW!:D

saw it last night - it was fantastic
lots of stupidly stupid superhero things - but Downey does make the character personable and likeable
it was a decent film with very good effects, and some memorable moments
if you like this sort of movie you will love it - its better than the FF movies or the last spider man and x men efforts, and a sequel is coming
go see it if you wanna have a fun night out

saw it. Downey DOES make the character his own and I commend him on that, but overall I thought the movie was really dull. It looked great, and was quite well acted but stupid superhero (is he really a SUPER hero?) stuff aside, it was just plodding along and I didn't really care about any of the well acted characters.
I did enjoy the comedy of the film though. Its a shame because I felt that the first 15min set up a great movie but I thought it was lacking.

Saw it and loved it. RDJ2's best moments were caught on the trailer, for the most part, but the movie still works even though the villain(s) aren't exactly buyable. Fuck 'em, though, this movie is about Iron Man and he was the shit.
The end credits are worth waiting to pass.

That was a fun film. No more no less and Downey's performance coupled with the smart, fast quips he spits out kept me from getting bored.

just saw it too and I loved it.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
I loved the bits where stuff went wrong with his suit, making him fly off into the ceiling, crashing trough the roof onto his expensive sports car (then the robot coming in with the fire extinguisher). The humour was well done and of course Downey was doing a great job making the character fun to watch. It definitely made you want to be Iron Man and just be as cool as this guy which I think is one of the most important things a superhero movie should pull off.
Also Jeff Bridges was very good as the bad guy, and actually better before he gets into his own suit. I lolled when he went "we made this to keep the hippies happy" (or something like that). A nod to him in the Big Lebowsky maybe? (dunno if it was intentional but I thought it was funny). The suit effects all looked great too.
Looking forward to part 2! :)

Loved it. Definitely one of the best superhero movies ever. Better than the Spider-Man and X-Men trilogies combined. Downey made Tony Stark breathe better than anyone could, and I can't wait for the sequel.
By the way, did anybody catch the scene at the end of the credits with a certain actor who had to deal with motherfucking snakes on a motherfucking plane? I missed it, but I'll have to go see it again just for the extra scene. I read about it this morning and was geeking out to myself. :D

Carefully dodged spoilers :D
hollywood shit doesn't arouse my tastes.
i'll only see this because of that crazy guy in the red suit. he was in a mental hospital and rehab for quite some time and mister Downey Jr made a comeback so he deserves some props for that. Otherwise, hollywood has a tendency to DESTROY people.

I think X-Men 2 is probably the best superhero movie ever...

i was glad the final fight didnt turn into an interminable slug match where 2 machines beat each other senseless beyond all structural sense. if we're playing with that much power then something is going to foul up terrifically for somebody pretty quickly.
but yeah, pretty good movie. 4/5 i'd say. shiny and efficient. retains that comic book, ersatz-reality gloss that i like so much about these adaptations. downey is pretty much a guarantee that the lines will be delivered pitch perfect, and it was pretty funny a lot of the time. potts was interesting in that she's plays a highly efficient character who also has the capacity to panic, get nervous, and generally run counter to the cliche of the general inhumanity of the perfect assistant or idiot savant competence of a comic relief one. i thought bridges' character was flatly evil, but it's jeff bridges, so it was fun to watch anyway.
so yeah, lots of fun.
ps. i'm not keeping up with fandom on this obviously, and i know he's revealed his identity to everyone since i stopped reading comic books, but they couldnt even maintain the secrecy for just a little while? so many stories revolved around billionaire stark being terrified of people finding out his secret, that to just wink it away with the (useless) reporter quipping that "you cant possibly expect us to believe it was a bodyguard" was just brushing that off altogether. ah well, tho

I though Hell Boy was the best comic movie ever. But Iron Man K.A. absolutely.
I love it. is like better than Superman when you were 6!
