Nothin' gets 'em posting like posing the question: "If you could choose, what would be your ideal Underworld live gig?"

Many dirts might say, play 7 hours of rarities.
Casual listeners/appreciators want to hear all the singles.
Somewhere in between?

Give it a go...i'm taking the realistic stance that ~3 hours is the limit for a gig, and if the boys jam on some tracks for a while, ~18 songs is anbout the maximum length.

Holden's dream of blue inflatibles: Not sure how these will all mix together, but they'll improv it out!

This is a tough question, especially if you try to put similar tracks together for a good flow throughout the set. My answer probably depends on my mood and what I am listening to at the moment. Anyway, here is what I came up with.

I'm a fan of long songs, so I won't list too many, and we can assume they are all pretty long in duration!

Intro/Poem and improvisation
Dark and Long/Dark Train/Shake that Higher
Five Foot Five/Bamboo
Cherry Pie/Rowla
You do Scribble/Kittens
Rez/Cowgirl/Spikee
Moaner/Burts (just a few minutes to transition between songs)
Dinosaur Adventure 3D/020202 [old uwlive.com track]

Encore: Spoonman (a long, extended version)

And of course, I would welcome lots of improvisation and even new tracks throughout.

as much as perfect sets go, i like them to feature my fav tracks and not the tracks i don't really like...

i'd be happy with moaner, mmm, dirty epic, dark and long, luetin, spoonman all in one set

but usually UW do deliver with the good sets, and to be fair they are pretty varied in style and order ;)

Ok, I've put more thought into this. I'll try and keep it in the realm of 2.5 hours (15ish songs). Let's just assume that every song has an improv that leads into the next song.

Opening:
Darc
Juanita
NUXX*

Second Set:
Crocodile
Peach Tree
5 Points
Dirty Epic

Inflatables:
Two Months Off
Rowla
Spoonman
Dark Train

Closing Set:

Born Slippy Original**

Encore:

i just dont think it's any good as a closer, but it carries the energy surprisingly well. they just should exploit the really thick thunk of the studio version more.

i can't tell if this thread is a disguised
cry for help to make bootleg babies 2
or not..

at this point, a lot of the requests i've
seen, are actually doable with all the
live material they've put out..

i think a 3cd set is now the standard
that we should be looking at..

i know that once i get the rest of the
live cd's i'm going to do that..

[[[[****** OF COURSE, we coudn't release
it because it comes from commercial material ***]]]]

but i know in the live threads for the first series
of discs, i did make a listing of what i thought were
the best tracks....

After something like seven or eight UW shows over nearly 10 years, I just want to hear "Spikee" in person once in my life -- WITH the guitar part. And played LIVE.

"Tin There" would be pretty brilliant, too.

"Rez" with the live keyboard intro like in the '99 London Alexandra show.

Pretty much anything older that they never seem to play when I'm around like Spoonman, Skyscraper, OG Born Slippy and Confusion the Waitress.

OH! Also the original King of Snake, as heard in the Blue Mountain jam. That one show where they play it with Moaner lyrics kills me. Just kills me.
