I'd really like to make it out to one of the big festivals this summer, but for logistics purposes, I'm curious to know if UW would be playing at Lolla this summer. Or, for that matter, at any other shows in the US.

C'mon, Karl, you know you want to see Minneapolis again. :D

Underworld at Lollapalooza would be amazing -- the venue (Grant Park, just off Lake Michigan) is terrific and the vibe at Lolla the last couple of years has been really positive.

Daft Punk played last year, and afterward was the talk of the festival even among those completely unfamiliar with electronic/dance music.

first post, yay :D

looks like the line-up is pretty much done for Lollapalooza '08, with Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, and Nine Inch Nails headlining (main act for a different night of the festival)

thinking about it though, wow, NIN, Radiohead, and Underworld playing the same festival? that would be amazing... seen all of these bands with the exception of Underworld, but it sounds like a concert from my dreams

petition!! :p

I was secretly hoping when they announced the line-up. We'll be stuck waiting for an UW visit a bit longer.

Actually, the official Lollapalooza line-up won't be complete until at least June -- I think only 88 of the 115 artists have been announced so far -- so there is still time for Underworld to be added to the roster!

I'd like to keep hope alive for underworld also but http://www.lollapalooza.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=85901 ;)

Cannot wait for this, I can honestly say though I'm still only really looking forward to the headliners... been 8 years now since I've seen NIN live and about 5 years since my last radiohead show, and no i'm not 50 :D

The schedule (when the bands are actually playing) is what won't be posted until June

The lineup looks pretty good. I didn't go last year, but two years ago was amazing. The location is fantastic and incredibly convenient, right downtown between the lake and skyline. But the camping listing in the FAQ is ridiculous. You'd be 50 miles away. It's just not that kind of festival.

The Radiohead show I had mentioned I saw was at Hutchinson Field in Grant Park. I found the "downtown setting" to be a little odd, definitely had a nice Chicago feel though. Never was much for outdoor shows (and the 100+ degree heat with humidity didn't help) :(

Gotta hear that new NIN song, Discipline, live.... so so very excited

I hate the tops of page *sigh*

I'd just like to note that:

- UW is playing All Points West in NYC and Virgin in Baltimore the second weekend of August,

- They have a gap in their schedule around the first weekend of August,

- Despite Daft Punk going over huge at the festival last year, Lollapalooza has a dearth of electronic/dance acts this year and has been taking a bit of heat for it,

- Only 88 of the scheduled 115 acts have been announced so far for Lolla, and

- UW has not played a show in Chicago (or indeed at all in the central/midwest US!) since 2002.

We need Underworld at Lollapalooza!!
