I'm toying with the idea of buying a 360. What titles do I *need* to own to accompany it?
I'm mainly a PC gamer, and a bit of a Nintendo fanboy, but decent Wii releases are so few and far between I might have to branch out a little bit. Plus, the recent price drop makes it a more attractive proposition.

Gears of War, Call of Duty 4. Halo 3 is rubbish relative to those two...

Question: Is there any reason why I should get COD4 for 360 and not just get the PC version?

i don't know,

it depends on what games you like to play..
i like the retro type games, and some arcadey sims so..
fighting - virtua fighter 5
racing - forza 2, sega rally revo
sports - virtua tennis 3
various - star wars lego
and a whole ton of 'retro' games from arcade live..

i can certainly vouch for 'the orange box' (halflife2, hl2:episode 1, hl2:episode 2, portal, and team fortress 2).
such a good deal for a collection of fantastic games :)

Mass Effect is worth every penny, as is Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

I've got Bioshock and the Orange Box for PC, but I'm intrigued by Mass Effect and Gears of War

Oblivion! Even if you have played it on PC - I own it on both platforms and it is still as great as ever....
Mass Effect is quite good too. My firend only buys stuff from Arcade live.

Mass Effect and GOW are both tons of fun, but you might want to borrow GOW or try to find it on the cheap, because the game is quite short.

I'm not a console gamer but I found Beautiful Katamari (Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beautiful_Katamari), YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAEZ19QsKhc), XBox (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/b/beautifulkatamari/)) quite entertaining: In a candy-colourful fantasy world, you roll around a ball ("Katamari") that has everything that is smaller than the ball itself stick to it, thereby growing in size. You do this, of course, for the King of All Cosmos who, in a game of tennis, ripped the universe apart and lost it to a black hole. You collect new material so he can make new stars, worlds etc. He helps you by constantly commenting on how incapable you are. Fun!

Here are some Xbox Live Arcade titles I suggest you try the demos for. I have 50 or so, and these are my favorites:
Rez
N+
Marble Blast Ultra
Pinball FX
There are many more, but I only want to recommend a few for now.
