Banstyle Live 2008, as posted on Facebook is fantastic. This is perhaps the first time i've heard this song live...love the improvs, check it out if you can. It's great seeing some old gems thrown into the mix of the new shows.

I always liked the sappy's curry part of that track on STITI better. Do they ever play that live?

basically - nope
it's even rare as hell that they EVER play banstyle. Like, not including the recent tour... there are probably like 2-3 (max) bootlegs of them doing it live.
I can only think of two off the top of my head, one from either the '96 or the '98 tour (forget which) - where it's a shitty audience recording (and a low bitrate mp3) & it's instrumental;
the second one is another audience recording... from the 2000 Roskilde festival, where it transitions into NUXX. Also, it's done in more of a 'bouncy' house-ish way too... nothing like the version up on facebook now

The version on Facebook could easily go in to You Do Scribble
Awesome! Finally a reason to buy those liveherenow CDs.

oh sorry! I didn't mean to violate against the rules. :o

Redbox 98 - and yes, sadly the soundboard recording of Roskilde 2000 didn't include Banstyle

The quality of this recording is absolutely class. I like the new guitar part.

I've always loved Banstyle, especially on STOTI including Sappy's Curry. It fits many moods. Kind of a sexy Underworld song.
I was very curious how it would sound like live, so the fact that the recent Brussels gig is one of the Liveherenow recordings made me very happy.
Listening to it now on Facebook (I assume it's the recording from Brussels) I'm not really convinced to buy the cd (Banstyle being one of the more important reasons for me to consider this one). I'm kinda disappointed by Karl's singing.
I'm surprised everybody on this post up till now is so excited about it. Maybe blinded (or better: deafened) by the fact that it is one of the few times ever Banstyle is part of a setlist?
If this is the result, it's better left on the album.

lmao almost worth a sig. Mmmm it's been some time I have heard that track the last time and the 2008 version kicks ass for sure.
Confusion the Waitress from Köln is up on Facebook. Probably best live version ever!
I want to listen to it again and again and again...
Thank you! ;)

well Karl's singing can be a bit off on some liveshows, but that doesn't neccesarily mean it's bad. It's not gonna sound like the studio version and you shouldn't expect it to. Sometimes Karl sings a wrong note, sometimes Rick's computer fucks up, it's all part of the (live) game.

Which show is the version of Banstyle from, or is it NOT from the recent LHN sets?

The one on Facebook is from Brussels. Another performance of Banstyle is also on London Roundhouse 3.
