ehhhhh. . . .

never found anything on it or sirius worth listening to.

save your money.

get a verizon win mobile pro 6 phone.
run winamp mobile at home
plug your phone in to the aux jack on your car stereo (get a radio shack boostaroo headphone amp to boost the line)

Listen to all your mp3's in better than xm/sirius quality via rtsp/wms stream.

Whatever you do. . . don't get that jessica simpson like iPhone ( damn good looking, but dumb as a rock [as are most apple products] )

Had an iPhone for 3 days - what a piece of crap

Conversation with mouthbreathing apple sales rep. . .

Me: Can you show me how to download music over the internet? I cant seem to get this file from underworldlive.com
Them: You have to use ITunes
Me: Well I dont want to use ITunes, they dont have the file.
Them: Well thats the only way to get music on to the phone.
Me: Well that sucks. . . I thought this was a highly capable internet phone. At any rate. . . . I cant seem to bring up ITunes. . . whats wrong.
Them: Oh you have to connect via WiFi.
Me: Huh???? what if I'm not in a hot spot???
Them: Then you can't download music.
Me: What the fuck???? you charge me 400 goddamn dollars and then you tell me this piece of shit is fucking useless on the road??? What the fuck is so great about an I phone???

Typical conversation with apple users. . .

Me: How do you [insert some neat remote functionality you can do with windows here] with Mac?
Them: I never wanted to do that. . . I dont know what that is.

My experience with XM is:
The programming is much better than I expected
For example, channel 80 "The Move" is cleary the "Classy" dance music channel (modern house music + classics like "Can You Feel It?" et all...)
Whereas channel 81 "BPM" is clearly the "Cheesy" dance channel (whole lot of trance + Cher remixes...)
In general, the selections for each channel are far more eclectic than I would expect for a commerical enterprise and certainly better programmed than say your average cable music channel or most internet radio stations
This said, everything is genre-fied
There isn't one chnanel where genres are mixed up to my satisfaction - everything is catering to one predetermined taste or another
In practice it's not too bad because the programming is good and they have plenty of content in the rotation but I'd still prefer some more varied, eclectic stations
Sound quality is much worse overall than I expected
FM sounds better to me
This was the biggest surprise Overall: XM... it's not bad!
