Just played Banstyle this morning. Good for starting the day. Bless them for playing that. Pity I wasn't there.
What a night :)
Indeed Banstyle completely caught us off guard!
And then...... they threw in... Cherry Pie!!!
..Which I've been hoping to hear, ever since I heard the Rock Werchter recording from 1996 :D
Complete setlist:
Beautiful Burnout
Pearls Girl
Best Mamgu Ever
Banstyle (!)
Cherry Pie (!!!)
Spoonman
Jumbo
MmmSkyscraper (intro)
Crocodile
improv into...
Born Slippy Nuxx
improv into...
King of Snake
Two months off
Back in the Fears
Juanita
Unlike Rotterdam or London, they didn't even go off stage after the last track, they kept on and played Juanita :)
While leaving the stage, Rick really seemed to apologise for having to stop after two hours, pointing at his wrist(watch)...
Funniest thing happened during nuxx; Rick was building up towards Karl's lyrics to begin, but Karl didn't seem to pay attention! He was looking at his desk... So Rick banged his hand on Karl's desk going "KARL" :D
But Karl began singing perfectly in time with the song, going "Drive boy dog boy", and got thumbs up from Rick :D
I saw two awesome gigs in just three days...
Can't wait to go to London!!
We are soooo being spoiled :D
It was also really great to meet up again with Stimpee, King of Snake, Lloyd, Leon, Techno Bunny, M.G., Céj, ....
Looking forward to see you all again some time soon :)

Is that a live cd thing as well? I know its against the rules, but can someone please put Banstyle up for a quick listen?
Or failing that is there any youtube of these improvs? Looking around so far shows nothing.
Holy fuck I wanna hear this gig. The setlist is SICK SICK SICK

While leaving the stage, Rick really seemed to apologise for having to stop after two hours, pointing at his wrist(watch)...Heh. Rick was doing that in Amsterdam. They were offstage for about 30 secs if that and then came back on, defied the draconian amsterdam 11pm curfew and played a manic condensed version of Cowgirl for the "encore" :)
wow, no Crocodile?
Yes there was, sorry; I've corrected the complete setlist ;)

of all the shows from their 2007/8 tour, this is the setlist that has me drooling the most. I'll be checking my mailbox frequently for it to arrive.

Underworld have heard our cries. This tour has started off with some amazing sets. You can please both die-hard fans and casual cats too.

Just back from Bruxelles... was absolutely great again. So good to hear Best Mamgu Ever, Cherry Pie, Banstyle & Spoonman again (after Cologne...). I loved this impro between Cherry Pie & Spoonman. Juanita was just fantastic.
Btw... the Skyscraper intro was before Crocodile (& not Nuxx) &, at the moment it happened, it really seemed that it was some kind of computer or software fuck-up...
Mmmm... was also very nice to spend this Belgian afternoon with you Joris (& the very cool & smiling Anneleen ;)) & to meet you Céj. Can't wait for Hamburg & Berlin next week... :)

Just had to post to this thread...
I know I'm a few months late on this one, but the minute I saw the setlist for the Brussels gig, I had to get it - that was back in February.
Christ almighty - this is Underworld at their best..
Best Mangu ever.. Banstye.. Cherry Pie.. then into Spoonman & Jumbo
I have the disc on now - what a fantastic 40 minutes of bliss.
Would have loved to be at that gig.
Just Brilliant
regards
W.
