There are always additions that come late. I actually think the line-up looks pretty nice. There's some bands there that I've been wanting to see that I haven't seen before, and a few others I'd like to catch again.

I'm pretty excited by this line up. There is plenty of stuff that I want to see that I didn't expect to be on the lineup and a fair bit that I've never heard of. Roger Waters is totally out of left field.

let's see now:

friday:
animal collective
mum
battles
spank rock
diplo
dan deacon (not so big a fan of the record, but would see him live)

saturday:
portishead
kraftwerk
mia
boyz noise
teenagers
erol alkan
sebastian
kavinsky
uffie (maybe)

sunday:
justice
chromeo
simian mobile disco
booka shade
the field

all in all it's decent, but not the dream line up that would finally haul my ass and be willing to put up with 110 degree heat in the middle of the desert at $5/bottle of water. day 2 is basically ed banger day. friday will probably have a lot of those people play in different tents at the same time, etc...

meh.

is this a legit line up?

b/c aren't there usually a lot of fake ones ahead of time...?

and do they go on sale at 10 o'clock California time or 10 o'clock your own local time?

That is the real lineup. If you want to be 100% sure, just go to the Coachella myspace as it is there, as well.

where's the myspace page?

I just want to be 100000000% sure, as Portishead have been "confirmed" multiple times, and it's been fake - plus I've literally waited over 12 years to finally see them live.

it's also like - a week after my birthday, and it'd be the perfect present

also - anyone know about that 10 o'clock ticket purchase time? I ask again, b/c I'm going to need to have my friend buy the tickets for me (b/c I'll be on an airplane when they go on sale)

(edit)
ahhh - I see, I just googled coachella, and found their site

(edit 2)
didn't they - in years past, have special "package deals" where you got on site/ near-to-on-site hotel lodging as a part of the ticket cost? Like they even had special shuttles to take you to the festival grounds?

I saw Roger Waters do Dark Side Of The Moon in Hyde Park in 2006 and it was absolutely one of the best concerts I've ever had the pleasure of attending. Enjoy.

I've been to all but two Coachellas (missed the second one and last year) and even got a motel room two months ago but this line-up isn't that appealing to me. but then again, they have a history of dropping a few great middle-tier bands after the initial announcement. I was hoping Radiohead and Underworld might be at this one, would have made sense with their touring schedule (Radiohead to play US in May; Underworld, well they're on tour and have played there every time on tour). oh well, might be another 'skip' year.

only real interests are: Fri - Verve, Sat - Portishead and Kraftwerk, Sun - Roger Waters and Spiritalized.

Looks like I'm coming down from Norway this year. Me and another 3 friends all have our birthdays in the end of April, so it'll be our present to ourselves, with friends of course. Decent line-up, but as mentioned, not perfect. Not too hot about the Ed Banger vibe anymore. It burned out quickly for my part. Portishead is a winner though!

hmm....

I'm wondering if I should get a hotel room or not... I don't mind camping
but I've I'm there with a g/f... that might suck & I don't like the idea of being grubby from camping and going straight to the airport

but it looks like the closest hotel is still 20 min away

anyone know if they're going to do shuttle services?

It's probably not new to people here, but it was to me. Per Coachella's website, Prince has been added to the lineup to headline Saturday night. That should be interesting. I wonder when the last time Prince did a festival show.

yea ...but
there's no way I'm going to miss Portishead for Prince!!!

they also added Aphex Twin & Goldfrapp as well...

oh and btw - I'm def gonna be there, but making it in on friday a bit late (probably) and will almost definitely have to leave early on sunday...

so who's going?

I'll definitely be there all day on Friday & Saturday, going to have to leave a bit early on Sunday (early flight on Monday morning out of San Diego, so I pretty much HAVE to drive back Sunday night)

and i decided on getting camping passes as well, much easier & we won't have to drive back and forth each day

So how was it for all here that went? From what I've read online so-far, Portishead was fantastic, and Prince tore up 'Creep'. I found some good quality YouTubes of Prince, and wanted to share before they get taken down.

IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!

I'll write a bit of a review, but I really really really really need to shower and do some laundry (and it's already after 11 o'clock at night)

...I've been on an airplane basically all day long
