Nice spot!
Awesome that this track is getting the single release it properly deserves, having made the rounds in many a DJ's set.

Just speculating on tracks, but in addition to the LP version, we've heard/seen:

Beautiful Burnout - Underworld remix (what dog?)
Beautiful Burnout - Underworld unique remix (with the JW film)
Beautiful Burnout - Pig & Dan remix
beautiful Burnout - Mark Knight remix

and of course there's the ol' Biro the Leggy versions with much longer beatless intro and the KOS guy talking about cars and travel.

Any others?
Would be cool, of course, if this was in the vein of the ol' UW EPs, a la Dark and Long or Cowgirl, with several UW remixes of themselves :)

Would love a Pearl's Girl EP-esque release.

hey remember when they were answering questions that one time and said that we would see the return to proper ep formats stocked full of b-sides and underworld tunes instead of remixes?

yeah about that...

How about the TIEFSCHWARZ Remix. I haven't heard it yet, but it is on some of the BB Promos floating around on eBay.

Also there is a Mark Knight Dub which is some what different than the Mark Knight Remix.

I'm all for b-sides on EPs. Put out one single with a remix or two and an EP with lots of B-Sides. Always Loved a Film, Bamboo and even the original Biro the Leggy.

I'm perfectly happy with my promo CDs.
All remixes are on there and I don't feel the urge to purchase vinyl releases to own them again. However, I'd love to buy official CD releases. I boycott vinyl, and I'm not even going to make an exception for my favourite band...
Also, if you're lucky, promos even are cheaper than digital downloads and as a bonus I'm free to encode in any format I wish and I "own" a physical product.

Somehow I feel that the promos are driving potential buyers away from the "real" releases... You even get CDs with all three RiverRuns cheaply on eBay. Not to mention the CDs with all the RR remixes on them.
It's sad that UW don't get the money for it that I would have gladly paid for a official release...

that's your choice, you miss out on the great artwork,
and sometimes better mastering...i compared OWB on
cd vs vinyl, and the vinyl had some differences..

'if you're lucky'............not many people are lucky, most promos
go for very expensive prices.....so that's not much better...

Somehow I feel that the promos are driving potential buyers away from the "real" releases...

since there aren't many promo's, and since the promo buyers
are usually fans (unless they're reselling them),....the real
fans buy the real releases anyway..

the last one that just sold on ebay, which i tried to bid
for, went for over GBP30 which is about US$60 , hardly
cheap.....and each one of those 3cd's went of GBP 25,
or about $50..i know, because i bid on them, and lost..

It's sad that UW don't get the money for it that I would have gladly paid for a official release...

it's always been that way..
that's why i buy the regular releases to support the band.

yea......
I've never seen any of those aforementioned promo's go cheaply
and as far as the new BB promo's - I've only seen one, and again - it was expensive

and I'm pretty sure the Riverrun promo's are just the three mp3 files (correct me if I'm wrong)

and the Riverrun Remix promo's also go for an arm and a leg, just as -1 said, you'd end up paying like $150 to get all three

...I miss Oink

Hmmm, would be excellent to see a Pearl's Girl-style EP. I think that the PG and D&L EPs get played almost as much as the actual albums. Stuff like "Bamboo" would be awesome. Not "Scribble" though...that track deserves its own EP! (or just to be the star of an album)

I just finished listening to the Javier Haedo Remixes and they are fanstatic.

Beautiful Burnout (Javier Haedo Fabric Of Dreams Main Mix) 12:19
Beautiful Burnout (Javier Haedo Holding Deep Stars In My Room Mix) 9:43
Beautiful Burnout (Javier Haedo Holding Deep Stars In My Dub Mix) 11:20

The Fabric of Dreams mix is my favorite remix of BB to date.

I've been seeing this new BB 6 track promo CD on eBay this week. According to this listing it does have both Mark Knight Mixes, the Tiefscwarz mix, the Pig&Dan remix, the "unfaded LP" mix and now a radio edit. Plus this CD seems pretty Pro compared to the other eBay promos out there. This one is coming from Greece.

The Fabric of Dreams mix is my favorite remix of BB to date. im not really that impressed with these mixes to be honest and im not sure if they are bootlegs or not though they have been getting played out by DJs. The Javier Haedo mixes aren't great as far as remixes go. I think they are kind of bland actually.
But what I dig about the Fabric of Dreams mix is the focus. To me it really puts emphasis on the vocals, which are my favorite part of this song.

And yes, I think they may be bootlegs. But they are seeming to get a lot of play by DJs.

I hope these eBay Pro Promos lead to an official release too. Nice to have everything in one neat tidy package.

Speaking of Promos, here's a slightly older one I've never seen before:

That is the only one I haven't heard yet. But I did shell out some dough for a Tiefscwarz BB promo on eBay. It's in the mail. Once I get it, that's the first track I'm listening to.
And I agree, I like BB more than Crocodile as a single. But that's because I am madly in love with Biro the Leggy. The first time I heard them play it, during the John Peel tribute show, it blew my mind. So wonderfully morose and beautifully simple.

That brings up a good point. Does anyone know of a link or download out there where I can find the "Keeping it Peel" tribute where UW played Biro the Leggy? I've always wanted that version.

by the way...

you can get (almost) all of them on beatport now!!!!!!!!!!!!

only thing that's strange, is that when I went to buy the 5-track version (with the Mark Knight Dub), it said that the release was territory restricted. But then, when I clicked on the 4 track version - which still is on the same label (underworldlive) - it wasn't territory restricted

...now - WHY would the Mark Knight mix be non-restricted, but the Mark Knight Dub be restricted to certain regions?

really now, there's nothing vaguely depressing about seeing the same song tracklisted 6 times with a different remixer at the helm? would it be so murderously hard to throw an original track or two in? god knows they're kicking around in spades.

i'd like to buy the singles but presently i simply cant justify it. i'm not interested in what tiefschwartz does to an underworld song. it just belongs to neither of them anymore for the sake of brief club play.

they wont even put their own remixes on the disc

Dubman, i agree with you fully. I've often wondered how many remixes never get played. A lot, i'd bet. Bless the producers who toiled to remix the track (and it must be something of an honor to be asked to remix UW anyway), but in my mind, a track's gotta be pretty huge on its own right before the crowds get tired of it and dancefloor remixes are warranted. Otherwise, it's just a dillution of the original and rarely fun for headphone listening.

I'm looking forward to BB mostly on the strength of the extended version.
But yes, why can't we get a little UW rarity sumpin'-sumpin' to round out the 80 minutes and encourage some sales?

Now that the hot subject and talk talk talk has fallen on extra/exclusive tracks, b-sides, cute remixes and other random stuff, has anyone else noticed that JAL To Tokyo LIVE is on the iTunes-version of Oblivion With Bells...? I noticed it because I was just browsing around (I live in Denmark by the way), I had originally just imported the OWB-cd into my iTunes library, and then I downloaded JAL To Tokyo Live and I'm pretty sure it really is the Live version of it from the JAL EP... Like, sort of a bonus track kinda thing... But wasn't that Japan-exclusive? If it is, then why the hell is it available on Danish iTunes...?
Sorry if I misled this topic into some dark and gloomy area that isn't to be discussed... Just ignore it, if that is the case....

JAL to Tokyo live, the first track on the 3-disc Live in Tokyo 2005 set, was included as a bonus track on OwB on iTunes in the U.S. and EU (including UK) stores, but not the JP store, which has Loads of Birds instead.

I got a listen to the download now. It is the What Dog Mix. There's a minor 15 second trim somewhere between 6:00 and 7:00, and then it fades out about 40 seconds earlier than the video.

i'd like to buy the singles but presently i simply cant justify it. i'm not interested in what tiefschwartz does to an underworld song. it just belongs to neither of them anymore for the sake of brief club play.

they wont even put their own remixes on the disc :mad:Man am I glad to see other people saying this too. I literally just put the digital download of the single in my shoppig cart, then decided to listen to the clips before buying (I usually don't with Underworld releases). After a quick listen, I didn't buy it. I'm all for remixes, but these are just boring to me. When I buy Underworld releases, I want some freakin' Underworld, dammit!

Here's another, more official looking, BB promo on eBay:

That's the same one you pointed out last time (http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forums/showpost.php?p=88206&postcount=34). :)

Yes it is. I guess I was just trying to point out that there is another one on eBay from a different seller. Meaning that these are starting to pop up more often now. The only difference on this one is that there is actaully of picture of the back of the CD. But again, it's not a great picture.

On a side note:
This probably isn't the correct thread/forum for this, but I found this on eBay today too!

Regarding the BB promo CD mentioned above... I picked up a copy on eBay recently... It arrived with a printed sleeve and disc and looks quite official, but I haven't read anything (Discogs, Wiki, etc) confirming this... Anyone know if this is an official release (or a high-quality boot)?

Here's the details...

Beautiful Burnout
DIFB 1087 CDSP - 451.1087.221
PIAS Recordings / Different

1. BB [Radio edit] 4:01
2. BB [Mark Knight remix edit] 3:33
3. BB [LP version] 11:08 (this is actually the Original Unfaded mix)
4. BB [Pig & Dan remix] 7:25
5. BB [Mark Knight remix] 8:46
6. BB [Tiefschwarz remix] 9:15

Promotion only not for resale

Cheers.

Don't worry, it seems to be an official promo.
Where can you read "Promotion only not for resale"? Is it printed directly on the cover or is it a sticker? I wonder if this is the final CD single.

Add it to discogs.

The promotion only label is printed onto the art on the back flap next to the tracklisting...

I would've thought that this was going to be an official release too - but that threw me...

I'll work on a scan of the art to post...

Yeah, that sounds like the normal promos.

At this point, it seems like this is going to be a vinyl-only release (at retail).

OK, here is yet another eBay BB promo. But this one has a track called the "Biro Edit"?

Anybody know what that is? Is that the original Biro the Leggy thrown on or is it something else.

It's not on Big Screen Matt's list: http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forums/showthread.php?t=7421 (http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forums/showthread.php?t=7421)
and I'm not having much luck finding info anywhere else.

Interesting. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd guess that maybe it's just the Radio Edit, given that there are no other non-remix versions of it on that promo.

i'd hazzard a guess its the radio edit, but until confirmation, i'll just add the title to the list on my thread....

Based on the Item description, I would agree that it is probably the Radio Edit. It would be cool if this is a new version, but I'm not willing to drop $30 to find out when all indications are that it is the Radio Edit.

This is just a USA version of the promo, hence the Chrysalis contacts on the sleeve.

how the fuck do i get the r59 mix from brit itunes

i... need it

TheBang

Well, you need to have a credit card with a billing address in the U.K. (or another of the EU countries with an iTunes Store, and then use that respective iTunes Store; R59 is in all the EU iTunes Stores). With that credit card, create a new iTunes account, different from your US account (an account can only be associated with one country).

If you don't have a credit card from that country, then you can use a gift card from that store. Once you've got the gift card code, click the "Redeem" link in that country's iTunes Store. You can then create an account without a credit card by entering the gift card code. The trick is getting the foreign gift card code (you don't need the actual card, just the code) in the first place. There are services on the net that can help with that, or maybe someone in that country on these boards can buy you one.

Lastly, all the new Underworld tracks on iTunes in the UK and EU are all iTunes Plus format. That is, without DRM. So, conceivably, someone in one of those countries could buy it and then lend it to you for a listen.
