ok this (http://www.thefader.com/articles/2007/11/15/audio-usher-f-ludacris-dat-girl-right-there-prod-by-rich-harrison) new Usher song is pretty remarkable. i haven't been this bowled over by a mainstream hip-hop or r&b song in years. both the track and Ludacris sound like a cyborg Teletubby. actually the Ludacris verse is probably my #1 profound pop moment of this decade!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.
first that wonderful snoop dogg vid, and now this bizarre pile of greatness.
fun week, guys.
The song is awesome. Usher's singing is still kinda shitty. I also think the wicked synths + Usher's voice don't go very well together. Furthermore, it's really cool.

Wow... I wonder how many A&R people lost their jobs on this one.
I personally don't like it very much (that crazy lead synth is mad discordant) but I've been largely intrigued by IDM's slow but sure introduction into hip hop and R&B.
Another example -- Beyonce's sister is coming out with an album and along with the usual suspects in terms of production, apparently Boards of Canada are contributing as well...

damn!
that intro is TIGHT!
I'm not a huge fan of Usher's actual voice... but I'd totally want an instrumental for sure
my love effect. Damn this is a real banger.
