Dirties!

Have you ever wondered what Romford really looks like?

Have you ever wondered if "Ring Road" is actually about the Romford ring road?

Have you ever wondered if I could manage to keep writing a whole 15 meg webpage in the 3rd person?

Have you ever wondered if I'd actually get round to putting something up at www.lxnen.com?

Gasp in wonder, as all these questions and more are answered in a truly epic webpage detailing a truly epic* journey at https://www.lxnen.com/RingRoad.html

Enjoy!

*may not be strictly epic, but it did take me most of the afternoon.

Hahahahah! Excellent!

I don't know much in Romford except the shopping centre and the Mag's Court. And the railway station.

Superb initiative, LX. Thanks! :D

i enjoyed that, more for its style of voice than anything else. my favorite part:
LX can't do hands either. was so unexpected and dry, i just had to laugh out loud.

well done.

Nicely done :)

If you'd have walked along South Street & Brentwood Road you would have passed very close to the old Lemonworld Studio :p

It could be Stevenage it could be Harlow. What is it with Roundabouts and New Towns? Not much architectural charm in these Satelite towns but then thats Flywaver being picky :)

The strange thing is, it's not really a new town at all, the market really does date back to Henry III, and when I first moved here back in about 1977, there was no ringroad, that was built (as were the inevitable roundabouts) sometime in the 1980s. Architectural charm isn't it's long suit, to be sure, nor are landmarks, especially now the Dolphin Centre (which was horrible but memorable) has gone to make way for more luxury 2 bed apartments. Here's how it used to look: http://www.johnpugh.com/photographs/misc/IMG97.jpg

I enjoyed your journey very much. I was just chatting with Janie a couple weeks ago about Romford and it's nice to see some images to go along with what I have heard. Thanks! Very interesting.
