Hello to you!
It’s late on Halloween night in Houston. I’m manning the door, tossing wrapped sugar tricky treasures into the plastic banks of Incredibles and Angels and Dogboys.
Here’s a similarly sweet treat for you all. I hope it sticks.
Every half-year or so since 2002, I finish another long-player, a cathartic journey of where my head was and what I’d learned. It’s catharsis through creation, and as I haven’t the time for the oil paints or chisels these days, the computer and guitars will have to do. This latest album was finished a few months ago. Up until now, maybe a dozen people have heard it. In a few months, it will be superseded by whatever-comes-next, and by then the mistakes in this will be apparent and unforgivable. For the moment, it’s feels good enough that I’d like to share.

Savvy Underworld fans might recognize the opening track title and the similarity of bassline to a certain jumbo-sized track. But with the second cut, a 24-minute, five-part journey, and the rest of the record, I hope that my own sound comes through. I chucked some album art in your sack as well. This really was a labor of love to make. I hope it connects with you on some level. If not, it only cost you a little time and the effort of dragging the folder to the recycle bin with the leftover candy.
Happy Halloween!
