just for fun,

i've been going back over a lot of the
earlier underworld material....its interesting
to the see the progression they went through..

i've made a set of mixes covering each
era, and will be releasing them shortly..

i haven't gotten to these yet:

i'll let you know once they're ready..

i had originally done some of the
dubno mixes as my 2nd ever mix, and
the pearls girl/ born slippy was my first..
way back in 1997 - and that was mixing
from cd-cd without any fancy pitch blending
etc...it'll be nice to compare them again someday..

1 new turntable
+1 new computer

(+ finding old mixing software that
actually works under VISTA, + new
version of soundforge 9....)

+ 19 inch monitor

+ 32 inch HDTV as secondary monitor

+ many, many dvd backups of files

+ new headphones

+ lots of times = many new mixes

(+ inspiration from seeing them live,
new material, etc...)

right now, all my originals are in storage about
a few thousand miles away, i'm debating what
to do with them in another month, or two..
depending on my job situation..

maybe we can work something out in a few
months, i'll keep you posted..

hey uw'ers,
here is the first of the
history mixed sets....
concentrating mostly on
the early lemon interupt
tracks, and early underworld tracks.


most are vinyl only, and some are
hard to come by..(i'm sorry about
the sound quality, but i did
not source these by myself,
when i have access to my originals
i will go back and redo them..)


i think its interesting to see the
development, and the techniques they
used in these early songs.. a lot are
more house/jazz sounding, with lots
of different instruments..harmonica,
house piano, acoustic guitars..

The mix sounds fantastic, by the way! After all these years of dedicated fandom, i still haven't heard the entirety of dogmangowoof or the hump. So i really appreciate this mix as much from a completist collector point of view as from the fact that it is technically a very solid mix. good flow, sir!

the dubnobasswithmyhead album,
and cowgirl/dirty epic singles..


this was the second mix that i
ever made back in 97, so its
interesting coming back to it..

i think the rez/cowgirl mix is
probably the most famous of their
'mixed' tracks that they play live..
at almost every live set they have..
so i tried to make it different here,
with another mix of cowgirl..all the
mixes are here, and are quite
different..

a lot of the tracks have the same
bpm, so it was easy to work with them..
