No prizes for guessing mine :p
I have loved this since I heard the refined, ambient version of Biro on a Lemonworld broadcast in early 2005 (after "Duckie killed Dirty" ;) and before it was ressurected again) which is why I chose the "chorus" as my nick.
And the full studio final version is a masterpiece. Sublime.

beautiful burnout and best mamgu are neck and neck for me, and moth comes really close too... but if i had to choose one... definitely burnout... when the drums kick in... love it.

Faxed Invitation by far is my favorite. I just love the lyrics! The song builds in wonderful ways and then drops out like "Kittens" does to create an moment of indescribable greatness. Not a single for sure, but a special track that is not quite rock, not quite techno, just the best elements of both.
Surprised by the amount of people voting BB, it's a great tune but not the best yall!:D
Mamgu and Boy Boy Boy tie for second.:cool:

Methinks some insidious site owner is altering the poll numbers in favor of his pick. Notice that there are only 3 actual people who have voted for Holding the Moth.

wow. holding the moth is taking off!
i voted for it, but mostly cause i thought it would be an underdog and deserved more credit...
BB is probably actually my fav

i actually wasn't going to vote for 'holding the moth'
at first, but after a few more listens why not?
it's kinda like a slower 'moaner' type of song...
cool lyrics, spoken/talking, nice beat, catchy..

I voted for Crocodile as it's the only album track I've heard so far.
Beautiful Burnout by an absolute mile for me. Here's hoping it gets the remix treatment sometime in the future.

there is already a remix of BB out there somewhere. Dubfire played it on his essential mix a while back. Dunno if it was something official or a white label, but it sounded quite good (and very club friendly)

After careful consideration, Best Mamgu Ever gets mine.
Very hard to choose a favorite song though when the strength of the album is that is plays and feels like an album with no particular standouts.

I'd be interested in seeing the survivor poll of this album instead. I'd be shocked if Boy, Boy, Boy lasted 2 rounds that way. (I kinda like it, but its my least favorite on the album.)

I agree that a favorite is hard to pick, since the album is so well paced and flows so coherently that it's difficult to pluck them from the whole. I voted for Ring Road because I just love the percussion on that song. Beautiful stuff all around, though.

i see someone has fixed the poll...
either way its only got 6 votes, and is certainly NOT the best track on the album

thanks for weighing in; how many more scientific observations 'til we arrive objectively at the greatest track on the album? (with a margin of error of +/- 5%, of course)

Well, I just got mine today, and after a only few listens it was still difficult to decide on a top song. However, I'd have to go with "Best Mangu Ever". It's one of those chilled out, "big sounding" (reverb is put to good use), heavily sample laden tracks that completes an Underworld album (in the same vein as Banstyle/Sappys Curry, Push Downstairs, Sola Sistim). IMHO, anyway!
Nice bass line too!

Interesting that Boy Boy Boy is rumoured to be the next single, yet it's nobody here's favourite, and Beautiful Burnout is winning over Crocodile despite Crocodile being the single.
This harks back to my ancient musings on the dirtylist about UW not knowing (or not caring, or even actively avoiding it) when they have a big hit on their hands, considering they put .nuxx, rez and darktrain out as just b-sides.

disaster? Well to each his own of course, but I really liked it. :)

Lx, I think this happens because they've chosen to basically remove themselves from 'the scene', and without much of that context there's no telling what will be a 'hit'.
It's a little tragic in a way, but we wouldn't get those fascinating little bits like Cuddle Bunny if they did it any other way.
with that said I'm sure there are plenty of people outside of this lovely community who think Crocodile is brilliant and everything else falls flat.
after all music is highly subjective :)

what about 'bruce lee'?
i didn't really care for that track either, but some of
the mixes were decent..
actually i prefer that over 'ring road' and 'boy boy boy'..

ignoring that fact that the poll has been fixed (to heal has 6 votes not 77!) - boy boy boy, the supposed next single has no votes whatsoever....
this does not particularly bode well...
anyway thought i'd bump this thread as most people will be getting the album today, and can offer their opinons via a vote again...

Mmmm... voting was very hard. Beautiful Burnout in the end (I loved so much Biro...). I could probably vote for every track actually (special mention for Best Mangu Ever, probably their best ending track ever imo).
This album is beautiful, so UWish but also very different, an evolution that we could feel through 2005-2006 (gigs, webcasts, RRP, Breaking & Entering OST, etc...).
October/November 2007 is even better than the same period last year... (yes, it's possible!). Thanks R&K & everybody @ UW HQ to make all this possible & to give us all that joy & energy.
ps : taking a train to London, now, to see all that live!!! :p
