Dear Mike
I dunno whether you have any say as to who sells the gig tickets, but if you do, please please never use gigsandtours/seetickets again. The amount of time I have had to waste on phone calls and waiting in the house for tickets to be delivered on the basis of a bunch of complete rubbish I have been told either by their customer service staff or their delivery company has left me in despair.
They won't guarantee delivery for anyone who lives overseas, which means they have to find a UK address for delivery;
They use a delivery service that won't allow you to go to their depot to pick up the delivery if they have called while you are out, for "security reasons"
Instead you have to make an appointment for them to redeliver - the appointment being "any time between 9am and 5pm - we cannot guarantee a time because our agents always change the order of their route for (you've guessed it) security reasons"
Having made an appointment, you can wait in all day and not receive the delivery, only to find that the delivery agent has reported that they had "no access to the building". I was asked if I lived in a block of flats... I live in a semi-detached suburban house on a main road with sufficient drive space to park a lorry if needs be.
If you do have an issue that needs resolving, their customer (dis)service team will tell you a complete bunch of bs just to get you off the phone and the only way of making sure that they have done what you have asked is to keep checking their website until you realise that they will not, in fact, do what you have asked, and phone back again hoping that you will actually get through to someone with a modicum of interest in their job.
If you complain they might agree to send the order by Royal Mail special delivery, but it is a lottery as to whether they will or not - sometimes a customer service agent will agree to it, sometimes they will tell you they can't do it, sometimes the Call Centre Manager will tell you she can't do it because she hasn't got enough staff to "waste their time going through all the envelopes to find those particular ones" when, for exactly the same event,they sent me tickets by Royal Mail Special Delivery ten days ago with no questions asked.Ticketmaster 4tw!
(God I never thought I would see myself type those words!) :mad:
