1.) Beautiful Burnout (aka Biro the Leggy) is now on their myspace page.
www.myspace.com/underworld (http://www.myspace.com/underworld). That will have to tie me over until OWB.

Does anybody know if there are plans to release the original version of Biro the Leggy, The one from the John Peel tribute show or even the one they had on myspace a while ago?

Does anyone have that in an mp3 they can share or trade? That version haunts me. Don't get me wrong, Beautiful Burnout is wonderful, but I enjoy the simplicity of the original the best.

2.) I just got the Crocodile EP/CD Single today. This the Japanese import version. It has 4 tracks:
1. Croc Radio Edit
2. Croc (Pete Heller Remix)
3. Croc (Oliver Hunterman Remix)
4. Croc (Oliver Hunterman dub)

oh hey thats brilliant. the one time i'm truly interested in hearing tracks off of myspace and for the first time ever something is crazy with the player and it goes nowhere and does nothing

BEAUTIFUL.

edit: there we go.

houston, we have goosebumps. 4 minutes in and we're not even halfway yet. oh yes.

i admit, the first time the vocals come in it's unnaturally great. fantastic treatment on his voice. i'm not too wild about the lyrics but they have that steely texture that reverberates a lot like a train does. cant wait to hear it proper.
of course i'm over-analyzing. i've just heard it. and... had it on repeat about 10 times by now

Croc
Biro/Burnout
Heal and Restore [Via Tong's show and various Sunshine rips]
Glam Bucket [Youtube rips]
Boy Boy Boy[? tedious sample posted in a TV show that was once on Youtube]
Good Morning Cockeral [Naughty link to a minute sample which seemed a piano based little number]

Holy Shit.

The Myspace recording is awesome. This album is going to be something else.

Oh wow wow WOW!
This track just gets better and better! The first Biro the Leggy we heard on dirtyradio and the Peel tribute was a lovely, melancholy trip. The live versions have been building the drums and bass into a rolling, vocoderized bit like the new Juanita. And now hearing the LP recording...so much new going on with the beats and effects. Just love it!!!

"blood on a tissue on the floor of a train...sun goes down, temperature drops"

It's 90 degrees here ,and i'm shivvering!

what is the version of jumbo on the myspace? it is brilliant. the singing is the the same, but everything else is TOTALLY different... it's delicious

(edit. i mean the first 5 minutes)

and now i just listened to "beautiful burnout" and it is stunning... i LOVE the singing and the sythns and beat and everything... on of their best songs ever!

wow...

This song has morphed into something completely unexpected. Original iterations of Biro/BB were more acoustic/atmospheric which were beautiful. I LOVE this though!

Have to agree, this album is gonna be something else.

That Jumbo is from the Electraglide 2005 Osaka show.

i hate that version of jumbo. rips one of the most popular loops off of garageband so that i'm sitting there loving the change up and then all of a sudden i'm back in a room with my friends giggling and fucking around with gargeband like an ass. it's terrible.

BUT THIS ISNT ABOUT THAT.

more looping of BB. that voice is going to make us all feel very good in a very dirty region once this comes out and everyone plays it loud. sorry karl. blame rick.

There was no need for me to type that really, was there? :D

Glad they changed the name too - makes me feel important! ;)

Wasn't feeling Biro/Burn Out the first time round but i've come to really like it now. I got a feeling this album will need some serious listens to get in to. But the mix between Croc and Biro is awesome, first time tracks on the album have ever done that.

For me, it has always been like that with every Underworld album :)

For me, it has always been like that with every Underworld album :)

I think every underworld album has "stand out" tracks and "grow on you" tracks. But the album always comes together after time. After a while with the album, it gels together like a personality. Each song gives a different mood. Some moods are better than others, but it is what it is.
For me,

Dubnobass... Standouts: Dirty Epic, MMM..Skyscrapper, Dark and Long
Grew on me: River of Bass, Spoonman, Cowgirl

Second Toughest standouts: Pearls Girl & Juanita & Rowla.
Grew on me: Stagger, Air Towel and Confusion.

BFish Standouts: Push Upstairs, Jumbo, King of Snake, Winjer
grew on me: Cups, Bruce Lee, KIttens

100daysoff Standouts: TwoMonthsOff, Luetin, Mo Move
Grew on me: Sola Sistem, Trim, Dinosaur Adventure.

Beautiful Burnout is no longer to be found on the Myspace. Very mysterious.

all the songs on every side of dubno were connected. Dark & Long - Mmm Skyscraper I Love You - that little weird instrumental, Surfboy - Spoonman - Tongue, Dirty Epic - Cowgirl (but i hate that transition, so i burned a copy without it), River Of Bass - Mother Earth

I'm pretty sure that's actually the dirtyradio 12/2004 version. If anybody has the John Peel one, I'd love to hear it!

It's funny to think that the original Biro has now transformed and "inspired" two songs...Mo Move from AHDO and Beautiful Burnout from OwB...

2004-12-16 is the John Peel Tribute show where they played Biro the Leggy.

They didn't play it at the 2003-12-10 John Peel session at Maida Vale. Although, in looking over that show, I realized that track 4 ("Unknown 1") is actually "Bit of Rope".

aren't those two the same except one has an audience (yeah i hear maybe 2% difference in the crossover between the KOS guy and the instrumental) but they're basically the same song.
