so if they played it in the set, it should be banging, right?
any first had experiences on the 'new' track?

it's not banging. it's a long slow builder. rolling bass, shimmering atmospherics. lots of sparkly guitar. kick drum didn't appear until a few mins into the song. about 125bpm.
i'll have a video posted by the end of the day. it's short but you can hear it pretty clearly.

definitely not banging.. but certainly 'epic'
this is a repurposed score track ('sunshine').. the LP version doesn't have as aggressive a percussion part as the live one does.
this was immediately one of my favorite tracks underworld has released in the last few years (bootleg or otherwise). i absolutely love it and i am SO glad they are playing it live.
also, it's awesome watching rick headbang and go nuts towards the end :)

I read on another blog that the promos are watermarked, which is why we haven't seen a major leak.

why don't we hear such watermarks when Tong has played his tracks.
sanakan
09-10-2007, 12:36 PM
because the watermark is not in the audible spectrum.
dc_04
09-10-2007, 12:37 PM
it's not an audible watermark.. it's metadata stored within the song file.

Nice try, but some how I don't think this would stop anyone from pirating it, unless it was an audible watermark.

It doesn't stop the people from downloading, but it stops the people from uploading. The fear of losing your job tends to do that to people.
I want to hear the new album :(

I think I actually like not having access to the album till the real thing comes out. It's kind of like the old days.

Been lurking here for years - now is as good a time as any for a first post.
Saw the boys for the first time in LA last night and this song totally blew me away. The driving beat, the guitar, the melody - all outstanding!
I was too far back to see Rick jamming, but it really got everyone else around me dancing.

Thanks for posting this, Dustin. Sounds like an awesome track. Look forward to hearing it live.
I like that little commentary gem at the end. So I take it you held it? ;)
What film score was this for? Was this rejected for the B&E or Sunshine soundtracks or something?

Wow...this is something totally new, I love it! If the three tracks I've heard from the album are any indication, Oblivion with Bells might be the best album I've heard in the last few years.
Sometimes I find it hard to believe that Underworld is still rocking so hard, after the 20-ish years they've been together.

this is such a great blend of influences and styles, to create something ambient and energetic, indulgent and expressive ... I've had this video looped for the past couple hours, and I can't get it out of my head.
bring on Central Park and OWB :)

Sweet video! I couldn't really tell, but was Karl jamming live on his guitar during the track? That's freaking sweet! I like the sound of this track and it indeed sounds like a soundtrack piece. Still love it, especially the live-jam aspect of it. :)

I invited my dad along the trip with me to the Denver show, and while he thought the whole show was alright, he absolutely loved the live version of Glam Bucket. It was great to see Karl jam on the guitar and Rick go absolutely nuts at the end of it.

it's very moody. or at least it sounds so on the video. like radiohead or something. does the album version sound like this?

When I said "from the album", I didn't actually mean the studio-mastered tracks from the record itself. :D I meant live, through the site, et cetera.
Though, in a similar vein, I'm very surprised that the record hasn't leaked yet. I'm happy it's staying under wraps, as I don't want to hear it until it's released, in all its CD-quality sonic glory.
