Just been going through my records and found a pink vinyl promo version of Rez in mint condition. There's a note inside saying it's 1/50 ... anyone have any ideas what this may be worth?

Thanks!
Nick

If the vinyl is dark pink, then it's a bootleg and not worth much, I guess.
If it's salmon coloured (1000 copies) it could probably fetch $50, if you're lucky. the run-out should have "Cloud hat remember this" etched into it. Any chance you could post a pic of the note?

it is illegal to own the pink rez 12" so you should get rid of it immediately. unfortunately for you, dumping it, listing it on ebay or taking it to a second hand shop will no doubt result in arrest. however, i know someone who can deal with it for you no questions asked - just post the record to me and we'll say nowt more about it. happy to help :) ;)

Haha - thanks. I'll have another look tonigth but I'm sure it had "why why why" on the other side (or skyscraper) and is salmon pink. The note inside was from a record distributor to the vendor discribing the record and release date and ordering details along with a person note. I'll also have another look at it tonight!

I'll also apologise in advance for how badly written my last email was (complete with spelling mistakes)! :)

yea - if it's the salmon-pink version, it's definitely a nice find

early UW promo's like that and Mother Earth/ the Hump (for example) can fetch a good price now and again... but on the flip side - well, with anything collectable - the price can vary a lot depending on demand, etc

Thanks for this.Just had a look. Its salmon pink with plain pink sleeve in the same colour. Rez on one side, why why why on the other with collect 002 etched in to the record and on the label with "a junior promtional tool" on the rez side. Label is a slightly light beige/orange.There's a note as well from a distributor called POP promotions (plastic on pieces in west london). A hand written note on the announcement says "Underworld. Only 50 of these on the outside. Top choon. Cane it. Pieces". Any more guidance on possible value would be gratefully received!

I paid a lot more for my copy (more than 50 bucks that is)
I think this one is even more special because of the note :)

Thanks, that's really a useful link. The record is definitely the light pink-blanchmange is probably a better way to describe it, and nothing like that awful bright pink one on there as a bootleg. Ill try and post pictures tomorrow if I can but thanks for passing that site info on-been looking to find out what it is and that's confirmed (it seems) that's its one of the original releases. Strangely I've never really thought about it as I've had it in my collection for such a long time that it was only recently as I look to sell my vinyl to fund a house purchase (loads of early promos of stuff like reload, orbital, fsol etc) that I thought id see what it was. I'm reluctant to even consider selling it now! Still, if anyone has an idea of how much it would be worth I'd be interested to know!

matt is such an expert i can't imagine he wouldnt have a price guide for it, so after some looking i fell on this:

i'm not sure what the current market conditions for this record are, but i'd suggest that its still not worth any more than £50

even with the providence / inner copy note

it does add some value to the record, but its probably only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and i'd still suggest £50 is top dollar for this item in mintm condition

vinyl, even collectable vinyl has decreased in value in recent years...
