I think it's a new HBO show... i wanna start watching it
It's my favorite new HBO show. I'm completely addicted.
And by the way, I suffered through two mind-numbing, pointless episodes of John From Cincinatti. If their goal was to piss me off by not giving me any clue what the goddam show was about, well then they succeeded. First time I've ever felt pissed off at HBO over one of their series.

I think one of the keys of this show is that their covers are actually really well produced and take the time to capture the spirit of what they're after instead of just parodying it.
For example, this is a pretty convincing Pet Shop Boys homage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wqfcwgT0Ds&mode=related&search=)!

I remember when this was a weekly series on Radio 2 over here. It's incredible. I once listened to the whole lot on a long car journey with my brother. classic.
if you surf long and hard enough you can probably still find the MP3s online somewhere - definitely worthwhile

And best of all they're from New Zealand.
Quality screen-based material from way down here - and not a fricking hobbit in sight.
Finally!

Jemaine: "We wanted the suits to look like Daft Punk."
Murray: "--I don't know who that is..."
Seriously, this is the best show ever.
"You need to work on your people skills"
"Shut up, Brett"
I normally hate musical comedy. I think it's because normally, once the punch line has been delivered (normally at the first chorus), that's it, joke's been done, and then the song drags on for another 2 verses and a bridge and I'm well and truly over it.
These guys have nailed it though. Not only do the songs work as part of the narrative, they're chock full of relevant humor, and the production on each track is fucking great.
BOOM BOOM!
