Wow! Cheap at half the price, mate ;)

Seriously, I have never heard of individual name checks like that either. Nice one!

"cheap at TWICE the price"

half the price would be 25p, which would be indeed cheap yes...

speaking of Rick's mixes...

I remember that there were at least three different tracks (or mixes) with/of st etienne, but I forget which releases had them on it

and I vaguely recall that there's at least one song that Rick worked on, but it's not listed as like "rick smith mix"

so anyone remember where you can find each of Rick's mixes (of st etienne tracks)

I walked into the store today and found the Born Slippy UK CD single with the Original and Telematic mix for $3. Something like this isn't very common here, so I think it's cool.

It reminds of the time I walked into the store and found the Dark & Long single. And the time I walked into the store and found the pre-BF Underworld Mix and Interview promo cd. I should really walk into stores more often.

that's cool. I actually found quite a few "rare" uw cd's just by "walking into a store" - Dark & Long EP (the April Records one), Pearls Girl EP, Cowgirl/Dirty Epic EP. Mind you this was in the time when mainstream record stores actually carried good dance music. I've never seen anything like this stuff in stores for a long time, just the regular albums (if that).

Yeah I remember walking into Free Record Shop a few years ago and finding the Dark & Long EP (with Thing In A Book) on it.

Free Record Shop is a crap record store and especially now, there's a very small cd section and the rest is dvd and videogames.

Rick Smith mixed and programmed the following original tracks on the Tiger Bay Album:

Urban Clearway
Cool Kids of Death
Like a Motorway

and provided the remix for

Pale Movie, but was not invloved on the original album version, afaik.

and he also remixed Cool Kids of Death on promo 12" (also available on the remixed Casino Classics CD)

I've never bought anything Underworld, save tickets and obvious electronic releases, from not just walking into a record store. And I have pretty much everything I would want, even Footwear Repairs. It's a lot more fun finding things on your own.
