The Culture Show

Sat 23 Jun, 8:00 pm - 8:30 pm 30mins
Website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/
Fasten your seatbelts and dish out the popcorn. Mark Kermode and Lauren Laverne present a British road-movie adventure. From a Brief Encounter at Carnforth railway station, to the real life strippers of Sheffield inspired by the Full Monty, this special edition of The Culture Show celebrates iconic film locations nationwide, as suggested by you.

Danny Boyle reveals how he created the eerie deserted London streets of zombie movie 28 Days Later. Edward Woodward revisits the creepy landscape of horror classic The Whicker Man.

Trainspotting's 'Spud', Ewan Bremner, recalls how the film changed the image of Edinburgh forever. Plus, music comes from dance legends Underworld, and the hit of Trainspotting, Born Slippy. [S]

What a brill piece:) Karl has hair and Rick has a beard! Plus, their lovely spotty dog and the mixing desk apparently totally wired up. Good to see Darren P also. Has anyone captured it? Maybe it can be posted onto the u/w archive.

This looked like it would be a fun clip to see. There was a screen of the BBC show posted on kwiebusch recently...UW let the spotted dog run about as they performed "Born Slippy" without any PAs or amps. :D

Thank You very much DaddyAdv. That was fucking great to see.

Rick was looking a bit salty with his beard and Pricey looking in tune and on time, but then spacing out at the moment.

I love the dog just hanging around in the shots.

Great idea too to set up the boards in a field!

Simply great to see and I'm still grinning.

Thanks a lot for that. It was a sweet, unique performance that us american dirts wouldn't have gotten to see. Much appreciated.

That's a shame, I like the Culture Show, but that seems like a missed opportunity to me.
Hopefully they recorded an interview for when Oblivion.. comes out.

Have just watched the repeat of the Culture Show film special and the u/w born slippy sequence seemed longer:) It was defo longer than the downloadable file linked in this thread - it contained the "you've got a velvet mouth..." bit. Is anyone going to post a link to snaffling this longer piece?? Pleeeees

Hahahahaha! Yeah!

Didn't notice it was on, but my sis called me and said "Switch to BBC 2. Now! Underworld in a field!" :D

So I caught the end of it. Lovely.
