Does it look better on HD than on a normal tv? Since it wasn't shot in HD it seems to me it shouldn't make much difference really?
This does remind me of the fact that I haven't actually watched EE yet on my new HD (okay not true HD, but HD ready anyway) tv....

well EE is on a DVD so watching it on a HD tv involves upconverting.... this is 720x420 (dvd resolution) upconverted to 1280x720. but standard NA tv is 640x480 so you loose resolution this way ( 640 is max width so height is 360ish). ..

anyways if they released it on true HD would be awesome

Underworld really needs an HD-DVD like Nine Inch Nails........it's crazy realistic.

*wanders off to watch aforementioned NIN HD-DVD*:D;)

A new live HD disc would be awesome, especially to see some tomato graphics in super fine detail.

of course it would have to be blu-ray instead. :p

I don't think something like a "EE part 2" or another concert on DVD/HDDVD/BR is going to happen. EE was an unique project. Another concert recording can't really improve on this IMO.
There wouldn't be a point in a HD re-release anyway, as the even the DVD version was blurry like hell! But I agree that viewing this on a big screen would surely be very nice...
However a Kiteless/Footwear Repairs re-release on DVD with a proper 5.1 or stereo mix is long overdue I feel. Damn licensing issues! Lately I transferred my VHS copy to DVD, and I had to discover that even the HiFi-audio track was MONO!!!

i think we would benefit greatly from a HD concert from UW. first off, they could cheaply record in 1080p (around 4k USD a camera) now, when before they were using 3ccd cameras for around the same price probably... then as viddy mentioned, the tomato graffics in super high detail would also benefit from the HD.

anyways, all that to say, it would obvoiusly be a HUGe undertaking and i wonder if it is worth it, financially speaking as all the filming, editing and primarily graphics take a huge amount of time.... i wonder if EE sold enough to make it worth it?

I think the Cocoon show would beg to differ. Not that it necessarily "improved" on EE, but it was different, high quality, well done, and very much enjoyed.

I absolutely agree with you. Cocoon was also very special. They just could have recorded it and put it on DVD but they streamed it via uwlive to do things differently and explore another way how to reach people.

I like the way how they put out new stuff even if it's sometimes hard to get. Like the new remixes if you are a "CD only" buyer, the Tokyo CDs, the RiverRuns or the Japanese iTunes exclusive JAL to Tokyo EP. As a fan it's fun to hunt for all those things, but i think that it's more difficult for people who just want to go into a store and buy a CD.
