30 years ago today we embarked on a journey to a galaxy far far away...
if you, like me, love Star Wars, well join me celebrate here...
perhaps we can talk here about what's to come and remember the good times about the 'Wars' sagas... (just watching RoTS on Sky TV right now!!!)
also check out this months UK Empire magazine, which amazingly has 30 (32) covers, if you count the limited edition 10 only Jar Jar Cover and the Subscriber cover... http://www.empireonline.com/starwars/
if you want all 30 its gonna set you back £100+ which is bonkers... but they all look pretty sweet - i'm gonna try and hunt down an Admiral Ackbar cover... as i already subscribe, and he's the man for me...
"IT'S A TRAP"
anyway, i'll add to this thread as and when i see fit - but those SW fans out there in dirty land please feel free to celebrate the first 30 years of Star Wars right here and look forward to what is coming...

I have been watching all six regularly for the past couple weeks. I must say that they are my all time favorite movies.
I don't think that we ever truly gave episode III it's discussion here because it came out when the forums were down. I have to say, that after watching them all together, I think that episode III is my favorite one. This has to do with the fact that I feel it has the most action, and the most Jedi badass fighting scenes, and well pretty much everything that I love about Star Wars and would want to see in a movie.
When you watch number 3 then go right to number 4, you see how great an actor Alec Guiness is because those scenes when he is with Luke talking about Anakin seem like it was really him who lived through that, and knew what had gone on.
Anyway, I just wanted to chime in here, and I'll gladly keep this thread gone with you, even if no one else does.

Oh yeah, and what's up with the television show?
well first up next year we have the new animated Clone Wars, then they reckon 2009 for the 100+ episode TV series (live action), supposedly aimed at a more adult oriented fan, but who knows with George, we are also getting a game which i think is being billed so good that its Episode 3.5... this is due late this year i think.
It features Shaak Ti - who never actually died under Order 66 in RoTS, and was one of the reasons why George sved her death, so that they could continue the saga in this game...
also not sure when we'll see them but the Original Trilogy will be made 3D at some point soon...
so much is looking good, i'll find out more and let you all know...

I've found some original Empire Strikes Back posters in my garage......
Both kinds are "Boris Vallejo" drawn and I've got 2 of the 3 designs he did for the movie. I've got a number of copies of both, along with other little cardboard ads that would have been hanging around the theaters.
Anyone know what I could price one of those posters on Ebay?
I was thinking at least $20 probably, but I can't find any solid pricing info for these on the net.....they are in pretty good condition for being so old I guess.:)
edit: I found a small pic of one of the poster types......HERE (http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com/newsite/INDEX/ARTISTS/empireboris.jpg)

I didn't know Vallejo made posters for Star Wars. He lives about 10 minutes from my home in the US. He would always come to the local gaming and comic events. He is real cool guy!

No shit! Small world indeed. See if he'll autograph some of these next time you run into him. It could be in your best interest too, I've got enough of these to spare a few.;)

Guess I'll just try eBay soon. Put one of each up at a time or something. "buy it now" $20.....see if people think they're worth it at that price. I hope so.
