im in a film class and i have to write an analysis on a film not rated R. It must have been made in the past 10 years. I can pick film now, but i was curious to see what the dirtys considered the greatest film not rated R in this time frame.
right now my current choice/back up movie is Big Fish.

Lord of the Rings is IMO the greatest achievement in film within the past ten years. If we're spliting them up, Return of the King FTW.:)

Million Dollar Baby. That or the LoTR franchise.
If you could choose R movies I would've said Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

Good Night and Good Luck is a fine little film, only rated PG too.

mm.. i checked and a all the movies i like are R
but Edward Scissorhands but is older than 10 years ago..
Have you seen "This Film is not yet rated", if you want to know
why everything is R.. go there.. basically you have all this small-brains
from suburbia deciding what is hot and what is not.
It is hillarious.

I'd have to go with Big Fish too.
Any of Pixar's releases that fit the time frame, but I am guessing you are looking for non-animated releases.

The Princess Bride.
That's gotta be over ten years, b.
Lost In Translation.
The Life Aquatic wasn't rated R in Canada. :P

Lost In Translation was R !!
Sorry...in Canada it's PG. My box only says PG so I assumed it was in the US, as well (Life Aquatic lists both ratings on its box).

eh, whatever. i would write my paper on it and argue that it's timeless :)
but I guess you're right... damn professors and their rules.
I would say The Incredibles then.

Toy Story 2 would be another Pixar film to add to the list.
