well, I for one won't be knocking the set you guys did last night...(re: todays uwlive post)
the (mic) sound was a bit dodgy in spots, but the actual 'set' was excellent...some real favs, as usual, plus three (i think) new tracks) and thats what us fans want...some jumpy numbers and something new and experimental...
i find the vibe at festivals different to 'own' gigs...people at festivals have paid to see everything, some to especially see Underworld as part of the event, others like Underworld but catch everything else in equal amounts, and others are just there because they know 'born slippy'....either way they all add to the 'vibe'...
whereas at an 'own' gig - fans have paid out specifically to see Underworld...its a completely different thing (and these fans may be more critical) - but 99% are enjoying the vibe you guys give us...
i drove all the way from Brighton to see one band yesterday - Underworld, and i went a short while after you guys came off stage...i for one can't knock it - its what i came to see...and i enjoyed it immensly...thank you
and i loved the emotion and love you guys shared on stage...especially Darren rubbing your head, Karl ;)
i also loved the mini camera - shots of the mixing desk and your face
i appreciate that there are new things to try and different vibes to work off...but for me - this was one set i'd never seen before and i loved it simply because of that (oh, and Jumbo)...there was not one person near me knocking the show...it was all smiley and happy faces...
Karl, Rick and Darren, as is the saying round these parts at the moment:
you bring light in
