This track's pretty freakin' sweet....

Always liked The Prodigy more w/o vocals.

Is there a new album on the way?

It's a new track for "Smokin' Aces" but they are working on a new album due out sooner or later. This sounds just like the tracks from Always Outnumbered but with a balls to the wall attitude that was missing from most of that album. More of a 'nineties Prodigy' sound does indeed sum it up about right.;)

It does have a menace about it, a la most of Fat of the Land and a few cuts on Jilted Generation. Whereas AONO was just full-speed but by-the-numbers, now we have some real aggro! I can hear Keith Flint wailing over this already!

Hey this is a very welcome track from The Prodigy. I didn't care for "Always Outnumbered..." as much as their earlier work but this has a bit of frantic psychoticness that I've always liked about their sound.

Thanks for sharing!

"Girls" impressed me. "Always outnumbered..." dissapointed.

Not holding my breath.

I agree - AONO was a bit of a disappointment in comparison to the previous albums. Still, will dwl this and give it a whirl. Comments later :)

i think i knew what we were in for when the third track leaked from AONO, so i had adjusted accordingly and got what i expected, even though i was pleasantly surprised by some tracks like "action radar".
so i actually kinda liked AONO, i wasnt expecting 7 years worth of work, because i knew they essentially went from scratch after the abysmal "babys got a temper", and had about 7 songs on pretty regular play for awhile.

this ones nice. super disposable fun on repeat for a little while throughout the day, and glad to hear that it's for a movie, which is great for that.
i'm already imagining a hilarious music video for it, tho.

I can hear Keith Flint wailing over this already!

that's funny - b/c it originally had Keith's vocals on it!!!!! They started playing it during the mid/later stages of the AONO Tour, and then it was (basically) perfected by the time they were doing the "Their Law (Greatest Hits) Tour"

I'm actually MASSIVELY dissappointed that this is missing Keith's vocals, as it works a lot better as a 'proper' song, and it had one of my favorite chorus' in a looong time "I'm not a punk, I'm just a cunt, You talkin' to me? Well I'm probably drunk!"

I really - absolutely do not understand why it was released w/o vocals

if you want - I can post a high quality (either a tv or a radio broadcast I think) copy of the track done live for the Pukkelpop festival

also - was this ripped off of a internet stream or something? Some of the drums sound pretty tinny

and about AONO - I will give them it had its strong points (Girls, Action Radar, Spitfire, Shoot Down) but other than those tracks, I thought it kinda fell flat. Especially after Liam himself boasting about how good the album would be... and the absence of ""Trigger" and "Nuclear" which Liam said was definitely going to be a single [nuclear - that is]. I'd also say that the "Passenger" mix of "Hotride" really should've replaced the album version [unless it wasn't made until after AONO's release]

yea, it sounds like a cleaned up myspace rip.
that chorus sounds like it'd make the fucking song, honestly.
huh. should we get excited about another prodigy album?
hey, why not. prodigy dont do anything mindblowing but they can generate some massive fun i dont think they've fully realized. that's a pretty ambitious statement i guess, because they're fucking fifteen years old, but i think they got seriously diverted after fat of the land and are sort of regenerating themselves again. it's weird. it's a little exciting because i honestly can't tell what's coming next from them.

here's hoping for a more solid outcome this time around :D

Warning will have vocals on the album, guess that's why they changed this one to "First Warning" and did it this way for the soundtrack. (Those lyrics might have been a little odd in an action scene, no?;) )

Keith and Maxim are going to be all over the new album this time around.

I don't know...

I have the sinking feeling that the upcoming album won't have the proper, full-vocal version of this track... I mean, Liam's pretty much outright lied about 'what's going to be on the album' a couple of times over now. And not just for AONO... I remember reading in his second interview with Neko (which promted him to release that '91-era demo tape) that pretty much everything he said about the next album in their prior interview was (essentially) made up, and that he was pretty drunk at the time

btw - does anyone want that Pukkelpop concert? It's in 192kbps and is definitely NOT audience recorded... which is rare with Prodigy bootlegs

It probably wouldn't do much for most casual listeners honestly....it doesn't scream mass appeal. But on an mp3 player at the gym (or for an action scene in a flick) this song most surely rocks.

I hope not that Prodigy is doomed to continue as a movie-soundtrack band. A lot of Liam's tracks have these great melodies which really show his talent, but this First Warning track is really meh.

ok - I'll get it posted later tonight

I have to go out and get a new printer... for some reason, it won't actually print anything. Like - no ink comes out whatsoever... even though the ink cartriges are all almost full (actually, just recently replaced), and I've done "head cleaning" like 4 times

Hell yeah, and the remix is even better IMO (found on "Their Law: the Singles" double disc edition)!

thats a Live Mix isn't it...

Darren Emerson remixed this track also but it was unreleased - he did say that it might surface oneday as part of another track perhaps on his album or as a flip to a single or something....

Well, it's called "That's the Way It Is (Live Remix)" but in reality it's a studio mix of the way they actually play the song live. Much more "Thriller" added into it and the drums are cut up and it sounds really tight!

Uploading the show right now, here's the tracklist at least :

Symphonic Intro
Wake Up Call
Wake the F_ck Up!
No Good (Fill)
Their Law
Hot Ride (Keith Vox)
Breathe
Spitfire (2005 Version)
Back 2 School
Firestarter + Action Radar (fill)
Warning
Voodoo People (2005 Version)
Audience Cheering
Poison (Pt 1)
Poison (Pt 2 - Hyperspeed Remix)
Smack My Bitch Up
Out of Space
Interview

Firestarter is the "new version" that was going to be on "Their Law", but was strangely left off that compilation. The only part with dodgy audio is the Interview at the end, but I still included it - just in case that someone would be interested in it

yea - I hope you guys like the show... It so weird, how many different bootlegs there are - yet the vast majority are in HORRIBLE quality. Like, I can only think of three or four other shows that are in comprable sound quality... and one of them isn't even a recording of a complete concert, and the other is that live in studio session they did a year or so ago

i have a pinkpop recording from 1996 which is a soundboard, and it's amazing. just amazing. they play "smack my bitch up" with the original female vocals...

that's actually one of the few concerts I was thinking of.

That - and Brixton '97(?) maybe it's 96, I forget
the In-Studio Performance
T in the Park from the AONO / Their Law Tour [incomplete broadcast]
and I think I may have a few others...

but honestly... I don't really bother hunting down their shows anymore, as sooo many are in shit quality, and those that are good - well, you end up (mostly) getting the same songs over and over again. And some of them have never really progressed from when they were originally played... "Breathe" for example, and "Firestarter" & "Poison" to a lesser extent.

sure both of those last two tracks have been changed a bit, but really only the intro's or the outtro's
