I've just received some more history & notes regarding Underworld and the good ole days... (direct from the hand of KH) and want to share some interesting UW bits and also gather some info if anyone has it... (Karl?)
-------------------------------------------------------------
In 1991, 'Rick began work with Paul McCartney on a Radio Series'
**does anyone know what this was...? the only Radio Series i know of that Macca did was around '95 called "Oobu Joobu" - was it this one or something else - or did the 'said' radio series not happen??
also in 1991
'toured with Debbie Harry, opening for INXS at Wembley Stadium...'
** i knew this already, but it is interesting to reknew, especially as UW played Wembley (kind of..) did anyone go to this? remember this gig or have any recordings - any details would be nice??
(I saw INXS around 91 but not at Wembley, and unsupported)
'went to New York to continue recording Debbie's next album'
** i assume this is the LP 'Debravation' (which came out in 1991) does anyone have this and could check the credits, does KH or RS appear on this album... or was it something else?
in 1992 - 'worked on a track with Propaganda'
** anyone know what this was - did it materialise... info if possible
also in 1992 "did a score for the BBC's Programme / Documentary called 'The Prize'".
** any info on this would be nice, been sorta searching, but to no avail... not sure if this thing is available to d/l from the BBC archives (suggested it was aired Jan '93)??
also in 1992
'Rick continued to work with 'the McCartney thing'
** this was an ongoing long project, so must have been something 'big' - news?? (Rick?)
'Played 3 shows at the Glastonbury Festival with our old friends (of eight years) Turbo Sound, 4 DJ's, the drummer from Howard Jones, projections and a stage in the middle of the audience... on the last night played from 4pm to 6am! (notes: "this will tour")
**obviously this was the 'experimental sound field gig, but it obviously didn't get to the tour stage as was 'promised', well not in the style that was done at Glasto... sadly - i've not met anyone who was there... was obviously a one off
also in 92...
'started work on a musical with Bob Geldof to be staged in Paris'
**be intersting to find out what this was if anything...
anyway - other intersting stuff mostly already known received, just thought i'd share some snippets, and if anyone can divulge any information on these collabs please let me know...
cheers
