I've been asked to burn a whole lot of big dancefloor tunes.

Hit me up.

Single tracks or DJ sets - I'm up for it. But it has to DESTROY dancefloors. I'm talking stuff like the old Tommy Sunshine/Felix Da Housecat summermix from a few years back.

Big tunes. Destroy dancefloors.

Get to it.

"Superstylin'" by Groove Armada has always decimated, in my experience!

Cheesy, but "One More Time" by Daft Punk is well received, too!

Thinking of times actually out on a dancefloor when everyone's gone nuts

DJ Shadow - GDMFSOB (UNKLE Verison)
the Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up

You're so right there. I hate that vocal. This mix is coolio though.

I'd say:

Agoria - La Onzieme Marche
Chicken Lips - She Not In (possibly the Stanton Warriors remix)

system 7 - alphawave (plastikman acid house remix)

That's funny, this is the first track I thought of. It was also the first track I knew I had to mix when I did an Ableton set off my laptop this past Halloween. So get it because it's about as close to godliness as you can get.

Uhm, other than that I'd recommend Miss Kitten's Requiem For A Hit (Requiem For A Buzz Mix) and for a housey track try the Pokerface remix of Sexyback. Yes I told you to seek a JT track, no I'm not ashamed, it goes off. :)

How has no one mentioned any eric prydz tracks? Get ahold of his essential selection hotmix from last summer. It's a brief 1/2 hour mix of his own tracks, my favorite live mix from all of last year. Hell, if you can't track it down pm me and I'll send it to you. Of his productions, "positive education", "shadows", and particularly his remix of switch's "a bit patchy" stand out. Other huge dance floor destroyers that come to mind are:

guy gerber - stoppage time (tom mangan mix)
stephan bodzin - papillion
thomas bangalter vs. dj falcon - so much love to give
underworld - mo move (hernan catteneo edit)

And if you're serious about "destroying" dancefloors....

http://www.gothamgrooves.net/manu1.mp3

The way the one track comes in at about 6 minutes in is pure destruction :)

On a lighter note, here is a Ben Sims set from '99 where he is seriously cutting it up...dropping all kinds of bombs:
