I have just spent this afternoon downloading the frankfurt gig from Megauploads (parts 1 and 2) and then putting it onto my ipod, and its full of skips!! Is anyone else experiencing this? And can someone post a link where I can get a skip-free 160kbs quality download???

As far as I can tell a) it was transmitted in 128 kbs so if there is a version out there that is 160 kbs the quality will not actually be any better and b) the current version out there has skips in it, but there are moves afoot to try and amalgamate all the recordings available and merge them into as perfect a copy as feasibly possible. RTSR r00lz. :p

beautiful burnout - heya, that is one hellava quick reply! shame I didnt meet you all at frankfurt - the skips arent too awfull, and if they are are embedded in the download then I will learn to live with them.

a) no link posting here.
b) recordings from an internet stream most often have skips in them
c) how could anyone confirm if your source has skips in it, if you don't post any details about the source?

A link has been posted but yes this is correct that dirty is NOT the place for links and trading. Such is the demand for links tho that they do get posted occasionally but this is the exception rather than the rule.

As for the stream rip that is doing the rounds, it does have breakups in it. crazysugarboy shame on you for not meeting up with us. we were RIGHT at the front with a big dirty.org banner you blind fool. ;)

dear aNT. people are spending a lot of time going through 4 or 5 diff. recordings in an attempt to piece together a skip free version. i'm not suggesting you hand over the masters but if you could hand over the masters, i know of a few people who would appreciate not having to listen to 20+hrs of recorded audio to get a decent quality 4hr file.

perhaps a rip of the copy from the desk could miraculously make its way onto RTSR?

yeah, the 160 kbps version has some skips, especially during skyscraper, but to say it was "full of skips" is a bit of an overstatement.

OK - I admit that my initial msg, saying that it was full of skips, was a bit melodramatic, but to be honest, it being a digital medium, I wasn't expecting any! - afterall, this isn't a vinyl record. I confess to being a bit compulsive obsessive when it comes to quality of anything - I go through a pile of books in the bookshop in order to select the mint copy, and one skip on an audio track is one too many for me! Oh well, it is only on 2 tracks (mmm skyscraper and cowgirl) and there are perfect versions elsewhere.
