I dream that i saw this movie earlier.. but im not sure.
:)
besides all the hypness and trendiness around Monseiur Gondry ..this movie is so not hip and trendy, is just very beautiful and you need to see it.
Im not sure if its good or bad, it just make you feel "aw" and a bit sad too.

Yeah... just got back from seeing it and gotta say I adored it.
Ultimatley it's a little shallow, but it's a helluva lot of fun.

I was expecting this movie to be more hipper than though and all that bullshit, but I was surprised. I really enjoyed it.
I really liked the hand made feel of the film. It gave it a texture that is lacking from other films I've seen lately and not just in that uber-authentic-over-produced-production-design lived in quality.
This film also had points throughout where I found myself wincing out of embarassement at my identification with Stephane and the emotional strife and heartache he's experiencing. Occassionally this happens when watching certain films for me.
Sleep also made me really want to go back and revisit The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I only saw the film once and it was a day after I'd had a big blow up fight with a woman I was seeing at the time. That was perhaps the worst possible film to be watching post fight. Forever was it tainted by that emotional state of that April day.
A generous friend of mine sent me the shooting script for Eternal Sunshine a year or so back. The copy was one that she had procured from a post-production house and isn't some nice bound paper copy but a beautiful stack of photocopied pages. I'm going to put it in a 3 ring binder to protect this beautiful trait. I'm going to read that once through before watching the film as I can't recall all of the film. By reading it I'm hoping it might jar my memory of recollection in a different before attempting to watch the film.
