Gambit - get it, if you like super hero stories you'll love this, if you don't like super hero stories you'll love this.
I went to comic store to pick up the Exterminator trade that i heard good things about. The art was really ugly imo, and i was flipping through Invincible and was amazed at how great its drawn. that and Robert Kirkman did such great stuff and how much Malt was recommending it. well, i gave it a try and really enjoyed it. i bought the ultimate collection which is about 13 issues, i kept saying i'll stop but ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting. :(

Ahahaha! I would hate it if McFarlane came back to comics. Him and Rob Liefield were the embodiment of everything that was wrong with comics in the early 90's. The stories are so much better now.
I wouldn't lump those two together, personally. Liefield was a moron. At least McFarlane was trying.

You're right.. I took it too far. No one is as bad as Liefield. Honestly, what Todd did for the world of action figures is amazing. He would bring nothing nearly as innovative to the comic world if he were to return.
I fucking love my McFarlane Tetsuo.
I had written a longer post on Liefield's similarities to Andre 3000 creative shit-dive on the Love Below: the dangers of working without a producer. You need someone to tell you, "Whoa, son. That's shit."
But I lost that post to the great internet forums in the sky.

i use to collect spawn comics and stopped at issue 70ish, but that was in high school i think. i had his spiderman #1. i'm a big fan of mcfarlane's art.
i would love the combo of him and kirkman, hopefully not spawn.

Spawn was great but he stopped writing/drawing it long before #70. He just ran out of ideas I think. He owns it of course but he doesn't really contribute much to it, especially not nowadays. No, I'm firmly against a McFarland return.
I never liked his hyper-cartooney faces, personally. Loved his Spiderman, hated his Peter Parker.
Jim Lee was the shizzle out of that crew.
