Tickets are available for pre-sale on the Cocoon Website. http://www.cocoontravel.net/page-43-KARTENVORVERKAUF.htm

For those of you not very adept in German, just fill out the pre-order form with your name, address and email address then click on “Abschicken” to post. You will receive a reply in German (although if you email them back nicely they will answer again in English) explaining that you need to do an IBAN transfer to their bank account, containing your full name on the reference as per the order, then you will receive a confirmation email back once it is paid, which you take to the venue on the night.

NB: IBAN transfers are not possible from the UK to EU countries because of the ridiculous banking laws, so it might be worth asking if there is another way you can pay – or find yourselves a friendly European who will do it for you. :D

Also there were talk about having special deal for the dirt going... will let you know about it tomorrow if it's still going ahead.

Is there a minimum age? Do you need to be 18? :(

seems like it's sold out now and there is only a waiting list.

„Our allotment is sold out, sorry. You can place a reservation on waiting list. If someone cancels his reservation, you will be informed and get his tickets automatically”

cocoon itself is 18+, but i'm not sure if that applies for concerts too...

Is there a minimum age? Do you need to be 18? :(I don't know whether Cocoon Club has any regulations on the age of visitors. But I do know that you may stay at "Tanzveranstaltungen" (= "dancing events") only up to midnight if aged 16 or 17 and not accompanied by a parent/legal guardian (Sec. 5 Para. 1 of JuSchG (http://bundesrecht.juris.de/juschg/__5.html)). (Yes, in Germany there is a statute for any conceivable question of law. Yes, even for issues that are solved by common sense/arbitrary judicature in other countries.)

What's more:

Our allotment is sold out, sorry. You can place a reservation on waiting list. If someone cancels his reservation, you will be informed and get his tickets automaticallySorry! :(

EDIT: Ah well, I was a little slow.

In case you got a (German) confirmation e-mail from CocoonTravel and can't figure out what it says, this is a translation of the important part:

"Attention! Admission with your booking code ["Buchungscode", see line above; format: xxxxxx/xx or the like] and ID card only.
You may pick up your ticket at the CocoonTravel.net desk near the entrance of the club from 8 pm. The event will start at 9 pm.
No admission without your code. Please present this confirmation."

If your administration doesn't provide you with an ID card, a driving licence or a similar means of identification will suffice, I guess. Anyway, best print the e-mail, wag it at the guys at the entrance and tell them you don't speak German (which also applies to people from Frankfurt, especially bouncers, or so I heard). A simple "Nix verstehn" accompanied by a desperate look and eyes full of tears is always helpful.

Ja, es geth doch wenn man etwas zu trinken bekommt... :) Fuck, I have a bachelor degree in German... I still don't know how I got it :o"etwas zu trinken" + "don't know" --> Sounds like you obtained it from Oktoberfest University. ;)

Je n'ai pas parle allemand depuis l'age de 16 ans.So, you haven't spoken any German in... about three years? Considering this, "Scheissekopf" is quite a nice creation! I will memorize the expression and use it on the next worthy opportunity.

Is there a minimum age? Do you need to be 18? :(Found a definitive answer (http://www.cocoontravel.net/xl73-Einlassbestimmungen.htm) to this: "Kein Einlass unter 18 Jahren". Sorry!

There is some additional info that might be of interest:
- Proper clothing is advised (whatever that means...).
- NO RAVER SHOES OR TROUSERS! (Next thing I'm disallowed my special 100 Watts glowsticks or what?!?!)
- No cameras.

Thank god there is no minimum age for the webcast! :)

Does the blog entry from today mean there will be art exclusively for the webcast?

reading about sven väth's restaurants, why not eat in his?

This is what I extract from the web site: Those two restaurants (Micro and Silk) aren't the sort where you just throw in a few handfuls of tasteless sludge in order to get over the evening. No, instead they're eating experiences in the multi-dimensional continuum that is Cocoon Club - including ultra-hip accomodation, witty guests, music from the club, and, probably, high-dimensional prices.

So, imo the Nachtleben and surrounding nourishing facilities sound quite inviting.

I managed to get hold of a vehicle that will hopefully bring me to Frankfurt and back. Anybody need a ride from the Northern Germany area? PM me.

Apple have set this out to all Quicktime Newsletter Subscribers:

"On October 12, pioneers of the jam and conquerors of festival crowds Underworld and master of the dance-floor and one of the world’s finest DJs Sven Vath will join forces for a once-in-a-lifetime live broadcast event from Cocoon Club in Frankfurt.

Cocoon Club was conceived as an avant-garde field experiment for transforming space and perception. As such it provides the ideal backdrop for this collaboration which extends to all aspects of the show’s production — Underworld, Sven, the space, crowd, light, film, sound and Internet.

The event represents a new concept for live music experiences. How will it actually work and what will they actually do? You’ll need to tune in to this special 3-hour live performance, exclusively in QuickTime, to find out."

Which is nice...

loads of people should be listening then...
