when i saw this trailer my first thought was "hmmm, very frank miller-esque......so this is how Sin City would have looked like if they used a similar technique as scanner darkly"

i can't even imagine how annoying this
will be to watch as a full length movie..
sin city did have some color in it...at least..

isn't this a french movie?
i try to keep up with TV5 news and they were all-a-twitter about it being expensive and crazy and made by french people.
soundtrack features LFO pretty predominantly, i think. and someone else from warp... i want to say plaid, but that makes no sense

yes you are! sin city was great!
why don't you like the bnw -1?
it is interesting seeing it in high quality film as you don't see it anymore and most of the b&w i have seen is all older stuff that is not high quality
anyhow, this looks grood
great and good

perhaps were confusing quality with picture clarity.
i mean, we're talking about movies, not bitrates.

I'll get back to you on Sin City, strange occurances have kept me from seeing it even though I've had it on DVD for the past year.
It'll be a LONG time until anything tops ScanDark, it was the first of it's kind to cover so much of so many things unseen before.
But this trailer has me more than interested and I love B/W cinema.

no, i do like b/w films (live action)..
its just that i'm not sure how this will look on
the big screen, and to be able to watch it for
the length of a movie..
i think sin city was different,(which i liked),
because it was mostly live action with some
animation elements..
scanner darkly was of course rotoscoped with color..
this looks like a very detailed 'flash' type movie
blown up...i guess i'll have to see a trailer in
a theater to see what it looks like..
also, i might be sensitive to light/dark changes
(it happens when you get older)..i can't take
the 'strobing' effects at concerts anymore either.
(sorry uw)..

hmm...
well - honestly, this could be cool, but there's something 'off' about the faces, or is it just me?
like - everything has these nice details and contours, but the faces are just... flat
it makes it look like something I'd see online, like a flash animation
