reduce an UW album down so it would fit on one vinyl record, what would it look like? you only have to do one.
mine: Beaucoup Fish

A1. Cups
A2. Push Upstairs
A3. Jumbo
A4. King Of Snake

A1. Bruce Lee
A2. Kittens
A3. Push Downstairs
A4. Moaner

and that's pushing it a bit.

i'd revise your BF album like this:

Side A
Jumbo
Side B
Cups (Salt City Orchestra's Vertical Bacon Remix)

Mine would be similar, except i'd substitute "Something Like a Mama" for Push Downstairs...no need to reprise Push on an LP this short!

Okay, how about AHDO:

A1: Momove
A2: Two Months Off
A3: Twist
A4: Little Speaker

B1: Dinosaur Adventure 3D
B2: Ballet Lane
B3: Luetin

...and since i have extra time on the B-Side, i'd prefer a 15 minute version of Luetin!;)

Right, well that was kinda easy, since AHDO is shorter than the other LPs, anyway. Dubno and STITI might be more difficult, especially the latter: "Juanita/Kiteless/TDoL" and "Banstyle/Sappy's Curry" might not even fit on one side!

I would revise that to something like this:

A1: MoMove
A2: Two Months Off
A3: Twist
A4: Sola Sistim

B1: Little Speaker
B2: Ess Gee
B3: Dinosaur Adventure 3D
B4: Ballet Lane
B5: Luetin
(although that's stretching the b side a bit..)

and it keeps with the unspoken rule that i discovered a while back: 90% of the time, if they have an odd number of tracks, they put the bigger number on the b side (like 4/5 or 3/4)

Second Toughest In The Infants:

A1: Juanita : Kiteless : To Dream Of Love
A2: Confusion The Waitress

B1: Cherry Pie
B2: Pearl's Girl
B3: Blueski
B4: Stagger

and then you could do something like
A: Banstyle / Sappys Curry
B1: Mosaic
B2: Deep Arch

as a single

i'd just listen to it in one section on an mp3 player...

rather than fannying around with a CD... ;)

if RRP was ever gonna come out commercially - which it won't - then i'd just be happy to see how they presented it, but personally i think it works best as three separate pieces, as they stand... wait until they release the best tracks of RRP on 12" & CD... because thats what i'm looking forward to

and...

Chopping albums doesn't work in general... BF or STITI or whatever, are what they are because they have the tracks they do, on them, if you want the best bits of albums buy the greatest hits... i don't like Push Downstairs, but thats what the skip button is for... i wouldn't want BF changing now...its TOO LATE!

and...

To be truly honest with you, before the days of Gatefold / 2 x 12" (DJ freindly vinyl) almost all LP releases were made of one piece of vinyl, so in theory you could get the whole of BF on one piece of wax anyway, although the sound quality would be diminished because of the groove depths...

Albums suck anyways, thats what 12" singles are for...

discuss... :p

there were lots of gatefold double LP records before the DJ-movement thing started.
and i'm really not sure about sticking Beaucoup Fish on one record- the sound quality would be absolutely awful. i think the furthest a vinyl side was ever stretched was 34-36 minutes, and beaucoup fish would probably put it at 38!
