I have 2001:A Space Odyssey and Stanley Kubrick to thank for introducing me to the work of Ligeti.

Very sad news indeed. It's unfortunate that he was never credited on 2001, though.

On the DVD version i've seen the credits for all the tracks being on, and Ligeti is there with "Lux Aeterna", "Adventures" and I don't remember the 3rd title.
