The new film from the artist Matthew Barney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Barney), most known for the Cremaster cylce of films.

This film is a collaboration between him and his partner, Bjork. I recently saw it and found it to be visually stunning at times as well as aggrivating at others, but overall I enjoyed it. My friend who went with me thought it was a fucking mess and wondered outloud as we left, 'what the hell was that?' Some would say art, some would say crap.

Anyone else seen this yet?

Oh yeah, the soundtrack is all bjork compositions. I say compositions because they sometimes bear no resemblence to a 'song' so to speak.

hopefully this will make it your way down there. It's a peculiar film. Aside from my friend who went with me to the screening last week I've only encountered one other person as I've been out lately who saw the film. Quite surprising as Matthew Barney seemed to have a few fans here in Portland.

I wanted to take some other friends to see the film but it was on a limited run and only played for one week before disappearing back to a studio warehouse or onto another venue.

I'm hoping it will pop somewhere on the torrent scene of things as it seems Barney's work doesn't ever appear on video.

edit:

I came across this link while looking for more info on Drawing Restraint 9.
